Premier League: An 8/1 bet builder for Manchester United v Brighton

Manchester United will be seeking a third Premier League win in a row when they take on a Brighton side that have enjoyed their recent trips to Old Trafford.

Manchester United ended a near decade-long wait for a victory at Anfield on Sunday, as Ruben Amorim won successive Premier League games for the first time nearly 12 months into his tenure as Red Devils boss.

The Portuguese will have to be wary of his side immediately surrendering their momentum as Brighton visit Old Trafford on Saturday evening bidding to win at the Theatre of Dreams for the fourth time in a row.

The Old Trafford faithful will be expecting another morale-boosting win, but given Brighton’s recent record in this fixture, it’s hard to be confident, so our bet builder is focused primarily on goals instead and pays out at 8/1 if successful.

Manchester United v Brighton Bet Builder Tips

  • Bryan Mbeumo anytime goalscorer @ 15/8
  • Both Teams To Score @ 1/2
  • Over 6.5 Manchester United corners @ 13/8

Pays out at 8/1

Mbeumo to keep momentum going

Bryan Mbeumo was the man that gave United their Anfield platform, stunning the locals on Merseyside with a goal inside two minutes.

The summer capture from Brentford doubled his tally of Premier League goals for United with that strike.

He hit 20 for the Bees last season and with his confidence lifted, could get on a roll if Manchester United can build on their seismic win over the champions.

Mbeumo’s shot accuracy is at 45 per-cent for United in the league and he should get some chances to add to his goal tally.

Seagulls to carry goals north

Brighton have managed just a single shutout in their last 20 Premier League assignments and they’ll do well to keep United at bay. The Seagulls have dropped the first goal in all four away matches this season.

For United, too, there is defensive worry as they have managed just one clean sheet in eight Premier League games this season, a run that becomes three in 15 stretching back to last term.

The Red Devils have won three from four at Old Trafford this season but only Sunderland have failed to score.

Brighton have won on their last three visits and will be encouraged to attack. The fluidity Fabian Hurzeler encourages from his side is sure to present a major test for United and both teams can find the net.

Leg 2: Both Teams to Score @ 1/2

United unlikely to be cornered completely

Brighton have won three in a row at Old Trafford, outscoring their hosts by 8-3 on an aggregate scoreline.

An anomaly of sorts is that they have lost the corner count each time and, across the last four league meetings in Manchester, United have taken 28 corners compared to just seven for the Seagulls.

Across those four games the Red Devils are averaging out at seven corners per game. That’s higher than their norm but with Hurzeler encouraging fluidity in his formation, the home side will get opportunities to counter at pace and a scrambling defence from Brighton should see United’s corner count going up.

Leg 3: Over 6.5 Manchester United corners @ 13/8
