Two of the five Premier League teams on zero points meet at Craven Cottage, but we have to back the hosts as the stronger of the two sides.
Fulham were narrowly beaten by Chelsea and Sunderland in their first two games, but certainly showed enough against the Blues to believe they can be a threat – not least with Gonzalo Garcia, their big summer signing from Real Madrid, leading the line.
At Palace, things feels fairly chaotic.
Not only have they lost their first two games 2-0 and 4-1, but there are already reports Pierre Sage is unhappy with transfer business that saw them lose Daniel Munoz at the end of the window – while Ismaila Sarr is unlikely to play after expressing his displeasure at not being allowed to move.
On that basis, a home win at odds-against is a Premier League betting price worth taking.
Norwich City to beat Sheffield United
Sheffield United are another club that seem to come out of the transfer window in an unhappy place, after key attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare was sold to Wrexham on deadline day.
The Blades did beat Bolton 3-2 with a last-gasp winner on Tuesday night but were previously winless and come up against a much better opponent here.
Norwich’s away form is a concern, they lost 1-0 at Stoke last time out, but last weekend’s battering of Burnley proved what they are capable of at their best.
Philippe Clement seems to have them in a good place, generally, and we are backing the continuity and calm in the Canaries dressing room to prevail.
Barnsley to beat Stevenage
Barnsley were tipped to struggle this season but have made an encouraging start to the campaign under Daniel Stendel.
The Tykes have won their last three games in all competitions, including a 2-1 win over Blackpool on Wednesday night, and should be the dominant force when Stevenage visit Oakwell.
The visitors are yet to win in the league this season, drawing 0-0 at an average Peterborough side on Tuesday.
They finished in the play-offs last season despite their overall performance level not necessarily suggesting they were good enough to, and it might be catching up with them now.
Leicester City to beat Oxford United
Leicester have hit their straps under Russell Martin, dominating a 0-0 draw with MK Dons last weekend before beating Plymouth Argyle 2-0 in midweek.
The Foxes should begin to motor now they are playing the type of football Martin demands of them, with deadline-day signing Emil Riis adding to proven quality like Bobby De Cordova-Reid in attack.
Oxford are in a less good place after a transfer embargo left things feeling stale in the squad this summer.
They were beaten 3-1 at Huddersfield on Tuesday and something similar is likely here.
Bristol Rovers to beat Rotherham
It’s going to be extremely difficult to stop Bristol Rovers winning home matches this season, and Rotherham look likely to be the next opponent to find out why.
The Gas have won their last nine league matches at the Memorial Stadium, a superb record that is justified by the quality of Steve Evans’ squad.
Rotherham have taken one point from their first two away games of the season, coming from a 96th-minute equaliser against 10-man Tranmere on Tuesday.
A second away trip in five days is unlikely to yield the same return.
