Arsenal and Chelsea meet at the Emirates on Sunday in an early head-to-head between two teams several people consider to be the likeliest to win the Premier League title.
The Gunners are clear favourites – odds-on in the Premier League betting – and have cemented that status by winning their first two games, even if a 1-0 win at Aston Villa was far from straightforward on Monday.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have served up two fantastic games already, and look set to be far better in attack than defence.
Here are our football tips for the 4.30pm kick-off, producing a 10/1 Bet Builder.
Arsenal v Chelsea betting tips
Arsenal to win 13/20
Arsenal to score two or more goals 7/10
Declan Rice to take 2+ shots 7/5
Cole Palmer to take 3+ shots 6/5
Arsenal to win
Arsenal are clear favourites to make it three wins from three and have to be backed to do so, despite Chelsea’s impressive attack.
The Gunners won 24 of their 30 home matches last season, a superb record, and saw off Chelsea twice on that run, in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League.
While the Blues’ front three of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro can cause problems, Arsenal have the defensive strength to deal with them and can turn this into a turgid game if they choose to.
At the other end, Chelsea look open and Arteta’s side can prise them open often enough to put three points between them and one of their nearest rivals.
Arsenal to score 2+ goals
Chelsea have conceded twice in each of their first two matches and could easily have shipped more.
Xabi Alonso is yet to settle on his best back three and also has issues in midfield, where his 3-4-3 system means he is asking two players to do the job of three.
With Moises Caicedo likely to be injured, that should mean the Gunners can control the game and create plenty of chances.
They need only perform to the level of Fulham and Brighton so far to score a couple of goals in their victory.
Declan Rice to take 2+ shots
Arsenal were very controlled in their approach at Villa but we can expect a little more back at the Emirates, particularly against such an open defence.
That should give Rice more opportunities to shoot on goal, as he did twice against Coventry on the opening night.
The midfielder has struck up a nice rapport with Myles Lewis-Skelly and is certainly not restricted to protecting his back four, as shown by his tally of over one shot per game last season.
This midfield match-up looks nice for his chances of firing off a couple of efforts.
Cole Palmer to take 3+ shots
Arsenal should have the better of this one but we can expect Chelsea to have their moments, led by Palmer.
The attacking midfielder is always a good bet for shots, having posted five and four in the first two league games of the season.
The Blues are likely to bank in and play on the counter-attack here, but that shouldn’t put us off.
Their game plan revolves around the movement of the front three opening up space for Palmer to shoot, so he won’t need many opportunities to land us this leg.
Arsenal v Chelsea odds
Arsenal will fancy their chances of opening up a lead at the top of the table here, and it wouldn’t even be a shock if it was one they never relinquished.
Backing them to control Chelsea’s attack and ease to relatively comfortable winners is the foundation of our 10/1 football betting Bet Builder.
