International Football Tips: 11/4 Bet Builder for England v Costa Rica

Thomas Tuchel's England squad complete their World Cup preparations with a friendly against Costa Rica in Orlando on Wednesday.

The Three Lions were 1-0 winners over New Zealand on Saturday, a contest in which Tuchel changed his entire XI at half-time in Tampa’s searing heat.

It’s likely the England boss will deploy more of his expected strongest side for longer against Costa Rica, as the clock ticks down towards the World Cup opener against Croatia in Dallas on Wednesday, June 17.

Below is a three-leg Bet Builder for England v Costa Rica which will return at odds of 11/4 in the football betting selections if successful.

England v Costa Rica Bet Builder Tips

England seeking to step it up

Saturday’s dull win against New Zealand was the first time since June 2004 – a pre-European Championship friendly against Iceland – that England had played 22 different players in a match.

Tuchel is expected to treat this clash with Costa Rica in a more conventional way as he gets ready for Croatia.

Arsenal quartet Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke have joined the squad after having extra time off following Arsenal’s Champions League final defeat, with Saka and Rice possibly getting the nod to start now.

England haven’t scored more than twice in their last five games, but before that it was 13 in three games against Serbia, Wales and Latvia.

Costa Rica have leaked 10 goals in three games in 2026, losing both halves in recent friendlies against Iran and Colombia.

With a little more settled approach and players keen to impress Tuchel, the Three Lions can run out comfortable winners in Orlando, likely aided by a ninth clean sheet in 10 games.

Leg 1: England -2 @ 13/10

Kane remains the main man

All hopes of England glory in North America are tied to captain Kane. He scored his 79th international goal in 113 appearances against the Kiwis, heading home just before half-time.

The 32-year-old’s form has rarely been better, Kane found the net 66 times in 56 games for Bayern Munich this season.

He goes to the World Cup aiming to become England’s all-time leading scorer in the tournament – currently two behind Gary Lineker’s tally of 10 goals.

He was Europe’s leading scorer in the season just ended and is the key piece of the England jigsaw.

Leg 2: Harry Kane to score @ 8/15

Gordon ready to shoot on sight

Anthony Gordon is fresh off a £70m move from Newcastle United to Barcelona and the forward should be buzzing. Gordon said after Saturday’s win against New Zealand it has been “the best two weeks I’ve ever had for me and my family”.

He’s scrapping with Marcus Rashford – who spent last season on loan at the Nou Camp but who has not yet agreed a permanent move – for a place on the left of England’s three behind Kane.

After it became clear he was leaving Newcastle, boss Eddie Howe left him on the bench for the final weeks of the season, so Gordon, more than most in the England squad, needs minutes in his legs.

He got 45 minutes against New Zealand and had two shots from outside the box, one on target and one blocked. Gordon can notch his third England goal here.

Leg 3: Anthony Gordon to score @ 11/8
