Gameweek 5 in the Premier League is now in the rearview mirror and it was an action-packed round of matches, with only one game containing no goals.
Liverpool beat Everton 2-1 in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield to maintain their winning run and they are now five points clear of Arsenal, who scored in injury-time at home to Manchester City to salvage a 1-1 draw.
The Citizens are down in ninth, while Tottenham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are the other teams holding down places in the top five.
Here is our team of the week for Gameweek 5.
Goalkeeper – Nick Pope (Newcastle United)
No offence to England international Nick Pope, but it is slim pickings for the goalkeeper of the week, as only he and Bournemouth’s Djordje Petrovic picked up clean sheets this weekend.
Pope just pips the former Chelsea player to the award as he made one more save in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium.
Defender – Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
Centre-back Harry Maguire made a big impression at Old Trafford on Saturday as he helped Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1.
The Red Devils were 2-0 up when Maguire left the pitch in the 69th minute and also got himself an assist in a vital win against the Blues.
Maguire put his body on the line repeatedly for United as Ruben Amorim’s side earned a much-needed three points.
Defender – Matty Cash (Aston Villa)
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa finally scored a goal this season and it was right-back Matty Cash who got his name on the scoresheet.
Cash scored from 25 yards to put Villa in front at Sunderland and, while he could not help his team record a win, he played a big role in the game as they secured just their third point of the season.
Defender – Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest)
Nottingham Forest defenders will have experienced a culture shock after the arrival of forward-thinking manager Ange Postecoglou, but it may bring the best out of Wales international Neco Williams.
Williams got himself on the scoresheet in Forest’s 1-1 draw with Burnley and he will look to kick on under former Spurs boss Postecoglou in the coming weeks.
Midfielder – Anton Stach (Leeds United)
Leeds United picked up a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday and also ended their wait for a goal from open play.
German Anton Stach led by example and scored a sublime free-kick, while he also picked up an assist in an eye-catching display.
Stach was everywhere for Leeds, picking up 15 defensive contributions along the way as the key cog to their team in the Midlands.
Midfielder – Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
Like Stach, Ryan Gravenberch also scored a goal and grabbed an assist as he helped drag Liverpool over the line in the Merseyside derby.
The Dutchman converted Mohamed Salah’s cross in the first half and then turned provider for Hugo Ekitike and he continues to prove why he is such a key inclusion in Arne Slot’s side.
Midfielder – Alex Iwobi (Fulham)
Fulham’s Alex Iwobi is the third player on our midfielder shortlist who grabbed a goal and an assist at the weekend.
Iwobi terrorised the Brentford defence in a man-of-the-match display as the Cottagers secured a 3-1 victory over their arch rivals.
Midfielder – Jaidon Anthony (Burnley)
Burnley will need every point they can get their hands on come the end of the season and they picked up another against Forest.
Winger Jaidon Anthony was on hand once again to score his third goal of the season, showing he is becoming a reliable asset for the Clarets in the final third.
Midfielder – Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes produced the goods again as his side held on to beat Chelsea in the pouring rain at Old Trafford.
The Portugal international scored a goal and then rallied the troops when the going got tough on home turf.
His work ethic and leadership helped the Red Devils over the line and he continues to chip in with crucial contributions.
Striker – Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United)
Leeds put their faith in striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer and he rewarded them on Sunday with his first goal.
The former Everton man scored with a superbly executed header in the first half and then won the free-kick for Stach’s powerful strike.
He also played the full 90 minutes to silence doubters about his fitness woes in the process.
Striker – Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland made it six goals from five games with his calm finish against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Norway forward timed his run to perfection and finished past David Raya to put the Citizens in front in a game which eventually ended 1-1, as he continues to prove he is one of the most clinical strikers in the Premier League.
