Premier League Team of the Season

It has been another enthralling Premier League campaign as Arsenal finally saw off Manchester City to secure top spot and secure a first title since 2004.

The Gunners have impressed all year and, together with City, boast a host of star names who have dominated the chatter when it comes to the league’s top performing players this year. Elsewhere, standout stars for Manchester United and Brentford have also excelled.

Here is our Premier League team of the season.

Goalkeeper – David Raya (Arsenal)

Every title-chasing team needs a top goalkeeper and David Raya has certainly proved one of Arsenal’s most important players.

A great shot-stopper who commands his area expertly, the Spaniard kept 19 clean sheets in 37 Premier League matches this season to clinch a third straight Golden Glove award having been a joint-winner with Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels in 2025.

Defender – Jurrien Timber (Arsenal)

The Netherlands defender might have missed the last two months due to injury, but Jurrien Timber was still the top-right back in the Premier League this season.

Defensively solid but also a threat going forward, the Arsenal man set the Gunners on their way with a brace against Leeds United, back in August before grabbing a crucial winner against Chelsea in March.

Defender – William Saliba (Arsenal)

France defender William Saliba has been a reassuring presence at the back for Arsenal all season and formed a rock-sold partnership with Gabriel.

Saliba won 131 duels for the Gunners this campaign and was a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side, providing the defensive consistency required to win the title.

Defender – Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal)

Brazil international Gabriel Magalhaes has led by example for Arsenal, showing great commitment to defend the goal, while also being classy and composed on the ball.

Gabriel netted a 90th minute winner at Newcastle United in September and also scored in back-to-back victories over Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Defender – Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City)

Twenty-one-year-old Nico O’Reilly became a Manchester City regular this season, showing great consistency and making more than 50 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.

O’Reilly came through the youth ranks as a midfielder and his skill and energy on the ball helped him have an influence at both ends of the pitch, combining solidity at the back with free-flowing running going forward.

Midfielder – Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Declan Rice has had a huge impact since joining Arsenal and has been a talisman for Arteta’s side in the hunt for first place. The £105million signing from West Ham has delivered a series of impressive performances at the heart of the Gunners’ midfield this season.

Keeping the play ticking over, the England man was integral in joining defence with attack and his brace at Bournemouth in January proved crucial to the title triumph.

Midfielder – Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Bruno Fernandes broke the record for most Premier League assists in a single season, setting up 21 goals this campaign to surpass the tallies recorded by Thierry Henry (20 in 2002/03) and Kevin De Bruyne (20 in 2019/20).

The Portuguese midfielder has been Manchester United’s standout player this season and a driving force during the team’s improvement under Michael Carrick.

Midfielder – Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)

Bernardo Silva brought the curtain down on his nine-year Manchester City career with another fine season at the Etihad Stadium.

The Portugal international showed his importance to the Citizens, playing in every Premier League game this campaign and scoring the equaliser that set up City’s chaotic victory over Liverpool at Anfield in February.

Midfielder – Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City)

Deployed as a forward and out wide, Semenyo has enjoyed an incredible campaign, helping Bournemouth challenge in the first half of the season before joining Manchester City in January and netting an FA Cup final winner against Chelsea.

The Ghana international, who continued his fine early form for the Cherries and settled straight in at City, ended the Premier League season with 17 goals to his name.

Forward – Igor Thiago (Brentford)

Brentford striker Igor Thiago earned a call-up to Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for this summer’s World Cup squad after scoring 22 goals in the Premier League this season.

Coming second in the scoring charts, the forward’s goals helped ensure the Bees, tipped to struggle at the start of the campaign, were comfortably in the top half of the table for the vast majority of the campaign.

Forward – Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Erling Haaland was crowned Premier League top scorer for the third time in four years after hitting 27 goals for Manchester City this season.

The Norway international was in stunning form at the start of the campaign, netting in all but two of the games he played in from the opening day victory at Wolves through to mid-November.

As City prepare for life without Pep Guardiola, the new man in charge will be extremely glad to have Haaland leading the line.
