Matchday Two in this season's Champions League concludes on Wednesday with eight more mouth-watering fixtures, including Barcelona against PSG.
Three English teams continue their Champions League push on Wednesday evening, with Arsenal and Manchester City looking for back-to-back victories.
Newcastle will go in search of their first League Phase success, with Eddie Howe’s men in Belgium to face Union Saint-Gilloise.
The game of the week also takes place on Wednesday night, as Barcelona play host to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
We have selected a four-fold accumulator to consider which, if successful, will return at around 18/1.
Wednesday Champions League accumulator tips
- Arsenal to win to nil vs Olympiakos @ 17/20
- Union Saint Gilloise vs Newcastle – BTTS @ 13/20
- Monaco vs Man City – Over 3.5 Goals @ 6/5
- Barcelona vs PSG – Lamine Yamal to score at any time @ 17/10
Acca pays @ 18/1
Arsenal vs Olympiakos – Arsenal to win to nil @ 17/20
A 2-0 away win at Athletic Bilbao on Matchday One was another indication that Arsenal are a firm contender to lift the trophy come May.
In stark contrast, Olympiakos were on the end of a shock result last time out, when debutants Pafos went to Athens and claimed a 0-0 draw.
The Greek outfit now head to London and face a massive task to even get on the scoresheet, especially when you consider they have only scored once in their last six Champions League matches.
Olympiakos also conceded twice in their weekend league clash with Levadiakos and Arsenal should be too strong for Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men.
Even though Mikel Arteta is expected to make several changes, a solid Gunners backline should keep the visitors at bay.
Union Saint-Gilloise vs Newcastle – BTTS @ 13/20
One of the surprise results of Matchday One was Union Saint-Gilloise’s 3-1 win at PSV Eindhoven, a remarkable scoreline especially considering it was their debut in the Champions League proper.
It was a different story for Newcastle 48 hours later, as they failed to take advantage of a bright start against Barcelona at St James’ Park and eventually lost 2-1.
The Magpies also suffered home heartbreak on Sunday, with two late goals from Arsenal seeing them lose in the Premier League.
This fixture does give them a quick chance to atone for those recent slip ups and their new German signing has shown enough to suggest he could have a big impact at this level.
Nick Woltemade has scored twice in his opening three games for the Geordies and it would be no surprise to see the striker on the scoresheet again on Wednesday.
The problem for Newcastle is keeping Union quiet at the other end. The Belgians have only failed to score once in 11 games this season and can play their part.
Monaco vs Manchester City – Over 3.5 Goals @ 6/5
Pep Guardiola saw his Manchester City side defeat Napoli on Matchday One and they now face Monaco, who are low on confidence and leaking goals.
The Ligue 1 outfit lost 4-1 at Club Brugge in their first match of the League Phase and come into this clash off the back of a 3-1 defeat at Lorient on Saturday.
Adi Hutter’s men have the worst defensive record of the top-eight teams in the French league, conceding 10 goals across their opening six league games.
City, meanwhile, are the current top scorers in the Premier League, having bagged 14 goals in six matches, including five in Saturday’s win over Burnley.
Barcelona vs PSG – Lamine Yamal to score at any time @ 17/10
This fixture could have been a repeat of last season’s final, but Inter Milan scuppered Barca’s hopes of making another Champions League showpiece.
Hansi Flick’s side will feel this is a chance for some revenge, having lost 4-1 at home when these two teams last met in Catalonia in April 2024.
PSG impressively saw off Atalanta last time out, despite having several key players missing, but this is a bigger ask against one of their main rivals for European glory.
Luis Enrique could have Fabian Ruiz back for Wednesday’s clash, but is still set to be without the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.
One massive boost for the hosts is the return of Lamine Yamal, who missed the win at Newcastle, and the Spanish international will look to score his sixth Champions League goal.
