Champions league semi-final preview

Europe’s finest team’s clash in the Champions League semi finals and both first leg games offer a wide range of fantastic betting opportunities

As the four remaining Champions League teams get ready to clash, the contrast in styles between the two first leg games will be evident for all to see. With Barcelona and Bayern both devastating in attack, it is widely expected that both teams will go hammer and tongs to outscore the other. The same cannot be said in the other semi-final, as Real travel to Italy to face a Juventus team who have mastered the art of defence. The style of games may be different, but both offer lucrative betting opportunities.

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

  1. Barcelona have won 15 of 17 league games at the Camp Nou this season, whilst also maintaining a 100% home record in the Champions League. Bayern’s 3-1 loss away at Porto illustrated some of the side’s vulnerabilities, which Barcelona will look to pounce on. Back Barca to triumph at 8/11
  2. Barcelona have scored in 85% of their games this season, whilst Bayern have bagged at least one in 90% of their fixtures. Both teams to score looks a certainty at 13/20.
  3. The La Liga leaders have been very quick starters this season, leading at half time in just over 60% of their fixtures. Contrastingly Bayern have statistically performed far better in the second half of games. Back Barca halftime/fulltime at 7/5.
  4. Luis Suarez has hit red-hot form, scoring 14 goals in his last 15 games. The Uruguayan has already scored six goals in the Champions League this season, and should be backed at ODDS to continue his streak.

Juventus vs Real Madrid

  1. Juventus have not lost a single game at home this season, whilst Real Madrid have picked up just 46% of their points away from the Bernabeu in their campaign. Back Juve to win or draw at 1/2.
  2. Juve have kept a clean sheet in a staggeringly high 62% of their home matches. With Benzema, Bale and Modric all likely to be ruled out for Madrid another shut out looks on the cards. It can be backed at 2/1.
  3. The Italian league leaders have been drawing 0-0 at half time in over 35% of their games this season. Back this to happen again at 6/4.
  4. After being shut out for most of the season, Javier Hernandez has thrived in the absence of Benzema, scoring three goals in his last two games. The Mexican scored the vital goal in the victory against Atletico and can bag another crucial goal in this leg at odds of ODDS.
