Aston Villa and Arsenal go head-to-head on Monday night in a game between two teams in very different places.
The Gunners – clear favourites in the Premier League betting – opened up with a 3-0 win over Coventry City and are currently fancied to ease to consecutive Premier League titles.
Villa, meanwhile, were battered 4-0 at Brighton last week and have lost virtually all of their most recognisable players from last season – though, crucially, Unai Emery remains.
Here are our football tips for the 8pm kick-off, producing a 10/1 Bet Builder.
Aston Villa v Arsenal betting tips
Both teams to score 4/5
Christos Tzolis to register 1+ assists /
Martin Odegaard to take 2+ shots 7/10
Declan Rice to take 1+ shot 2/7
Both teams to score
Arsenal are understandably favourites to win, but it just doesn’t feel right backing them away at Villa at such a heavy odds-on price.
Instead, the focus should be on goals, with the Gunners looking very likely to score against a team that shipped four last week.
Mikel Arteta’s side scored in 27 of their last 28 away games of last season, but also conceded in nine of their last 12.
BTTS won in three of Villa’s last four home games of last term, as well in the last three meetings between these teams. Even if the hosts aren’t in great shape overall, Emery is bound to have improved them from last week.
Christos Tzolis to register 1+ assist
Not all sources credited Tzolis with an assist for Bukayo Saka against Coventry last week, but he was certainly close to it – and we want to be on him when this bet does land properly
The summer signing from Club Brugge registered three key passes in that game, having set up two goals in the Community Shield a week earlier.
He also assisted an incredible 23 goals in 36 games in Belgium last term, a performance level that is already converting nicely into English football.
Martin Odegaard to have 2+ shots
Odegaard feels like one of the in-form players in the Premier League at the start of this campaign, having shaken off last season’s injury problems.
He was good at the World Cup and has scored in each of Arsenal’s first two games of 2026/27, registering three shots against Coventry last week.
This will likely be a tougher night for the Gunners, but a couple more efforts does not look beyond a player who is the hub of all of his side’s attacks.
Declan Rice to take 1+ shot
This is a much shorter price but worth chucking in to boost the odds up to 10/1.
Rice had two efforts against Coventry before being substituted fairly early and likes to take a pop from distance, which makes him a nice bet in this market.
He averaged more than a shot per game last season, with the bonus of potentially being on direct free-kick duty also thrown in.
Aston Villa v Arsenal odds
Arsenal will fancy their chances of collecting another three points, though the idea of writing off an Emery side too easily just doesn’t sit right.
Instead, backing a few Gunners to do the business in the individual attacking markets looks good, and helps us build a 10/1 football betting Bet Builder.
