Gary O’Brien: My Cheltenham picks for every race on Tuesday

13:30 SUPREME NOVICES’ HURDLE

Mystical Power is a horse I have a lot of time for but there suddenly seems to be serious confidence behind Tullyhill in the Willie Mullins camp, which is somewhat off-putting.

Nicky Henderson’s tribulations of late have been well-documented but JERIKO DU REPONET / has impressed me and, with four places on offer, I am prepared to chance him each-way.

14:10 ARKLE CHALLENGE TROPHY

This looks wide open. Momentum has been growing behind Gaelic Warrior in recent days but he is not exactly the most reliable.

Stable-companion IL ETAIT TEMPS / did well to peg back Found A Fifty at Leopardstown and is a good, tough sort who should be thereabouts under regular rider Danny Mullins.

14:50 ULTIMA HANDICAP CHASE

Plenty of Irish interest here but none of them are especially compelling. My vote would therefore go to CHIANTI CLASSICO / , who is a sound jumper and has already enjoyed a good season.

15:30 CHAMPION HURDLE

All the evidence suggests State Man should capitalise on Constitution Hill’s unfortunate absence but I think IBERICO LORD / could be interesting in the ‘without the favourite’ market, particularly if Jeriko Du Reponet runs well earlier. He was very good in the Betfair Hurdle, which is strong form, and looks up to this company now.

16:10 MARES’ HURDLE

LOSSIEMOUTH / is impossible to oppose here after her facile reappearance win. Some have expressed fears about the step up to 2m 4f but that is not really a worry for me.

Lantry Lady / could hit the frame at a price with conditions to suit.

16:50 BOODLES JUVENILE HANDICAP HURDLE

A real minefield as usual but I fancy NARA / to go well at a double-figure price on what looks a reasonable mark.

She has caught the eye on both starts for Henry de Bromhead, most recently when fourth in a Naas conditions event that has often proved a good guide for this contest.

17:30 NATIONAL HUNT CHASE

A race that may well boil down to a match between CORBETTS CROSS / and Embassy Gardens.

The latter has taken really well to chasing and has to be feared but his market rival has the stronger form and may be able to pounce late.
