Premier League Team of the Week: Gameweek 13
Premier League Team of the Week

Week 13 of the 2025/26 Premier League season provided plenty of goals, with 32 scored across the 10 fixtures which took place on Saturday and Sunday.

At Stamford Bridge, 10-man Chelsea held league leaders  Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the standout fixture of the weekend,

Manchester City survived a scare at home against Leeds United to win 3-2, while Liverpool got back to winning ways thanks to a 2-0 victory on the road at West Ham.

Here is our team of the week for Gameweek 13.

Goalkeeper – Senne Lammens (Manchester United)

Helping Manchester United pick up a valuable three points on the road at Selhurst Park, keeper Senne Lammens played an important role between the sticks.

The Eagles put the Red Devils under heavy pressure and Lemmens made saves that helped the visitors edge out a 2-1 comeback win in the capital.

Defender – Reece James (Chelsea)

Although playing in more of a midfield role against Arsenal, regular Chelsea right-back Reece James makes this team for his stellar display at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Putting in dangerous crosses through the contest against the Gunners, James earned high praise from manager Enzo Maresca after the full-time whistle.

Defender – Malick Thiaw (Newcastle United)

Bagging a brace of goals in an impressive 4-1 win for Newcastle at Everton, Malick Thiaw walks into this Team of the Week in the heart of the defence.

Not only scoring goals, Thiaw was part of a solid Magpies backline that really did a number on the Toffees at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Defender – Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City)

Becoming a real leader in this Manchester City side, Josko Gvardiol makes the cut despite giving a penalty away against Leeds.

The Croatian did score City’s second goal and prevented some counter-attacking moves from the Whites to help the Citizens edge over the line in this one.

Defender – Joe Gomez (Liverpool)

Liverpool needed a strong defensive display to get back to winning ways and Joe Gomez helped the Reds keep a clean sheet in their 2-0 win at West Ham.

Also playing a part in both goals for the visitors at the London Stadium, Gomez completes the back four here.

Midfielder – Grant Xhaka (Sunderland)

Proving to be a candidate for summer signing of the season, Sunderland skipper Granit Xhaka was at his combative best in the Black Cats’ 3-2 home win over Bournemouth.

So much ball went through the Swiss midfielder and he was a key figure in helping the Wearsider continue their remarkable start to life back in the top-flight.

Midfielder – Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa)

A goalscoring performance to help Aston Villa claim the points and bragging rights against Wolves, Boubacar Kamara earns his spot in this side.

Not only getting on the scoresheet, Kamara broke up play well and showed why he can be an important part of this Villa side if he can stay fit.

Midfielder – Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Bagging the opening goal and the eventual 91st-minute winner, Phil Foden was the standout player in Man City’s narrow win over Leeds.

Showing flashes of quality in the crunch moments, England international Foden was the difference-maker at the Etihad Stadium.

Midfielder – Lewis Miley (Newcastle United)

Playing with a quality beyond his years, 19-year-old Lewis Miley caught the eye with his Newcastle display on Merseyside against Everton.

Providing an assist from a corner, before scoring a goal of his own past England number one Jordan Pickford, it was a good day for the teenager Miley.

Midfielder – Cody Gakpo (Liverpool)

A player who has been consistent despite Liverpool’s troubles this season, Cody Gakpo again impressed for the Reds at the weekend.

Providing the assist for Alexander Isak for the opener and scoring the second goal to seal the three points late on, it was a strong performance from the Netherlands international.

Striker – Igor Thiago (Brentford)

Scoring two late goals in a thrilling end to Brentford’s 3-2 victory at home against Burnley, Igor Thiago leads the line in this latest Team of the Week.

Taking just 13 games to reach 10 Premier League goals, Thiago has taken to the English top-flight like a duck to water and again he is more than deserving of his place in this line-up.
