MLS Preview: Orlando vs DC United

Ben Olsen’s men staggering value at 27/10 to gain all three points

As the halfway stage of the MLS season looms ever closer, it’s clear which team has attracted all the headlines in the eastern conference so far. Averaging 1.75 points per game, with 8 wins in 16, DC United have been the leagues clear form horses, as they continue to play football that is heads and shoulders above their competition.

On Monday they face a tough task against a 4th placed Orlando side who are unbeaten in four games, winning two of these. Their last defeat, however, was against DC in May, and whilst the two sides have only ever played three times, United have won all of them.

The away side are very surprisingly priced as 27/10 underdogs for the fixture, and this is simply too good to ignore. DC are superior in every comparable statistic, with more wins, fewer defeats and a superior goal difference.

Despite their success, the league leaders are not always quick starters however, and this is another betting angle worth exploring. They have been ahead at half time in just 19% of games this campaign, with a 45 minute score line of 0-0 occurring 33.3% of the time. As Ben Olsen continues to emphasise possession football, it’s clear DC become deadlier as their opponents tire. United to be drawing at half time and winning come the final whistle is available at 15/2.

If there is one player capable of lighting the game up for Orlando then it’s almost certainly world football legend Kaka. The high profile Brazilian has thrived in his new environment, and is his sides’ joint top scorer with 5 goals this campaign. Whilst his team may otherwise be outclassed by DC, he remains the leagues star player, and will attract plenty of betting attention at ODDS to score anytime.

DC United’s price of 27/10 is one of the MLS bets of the season so far, and it looks unlikely that a slow start nor Kaka will stop them gaining all three points here.

Recommended Bets:

DC United: 27/10

Half time – Draw/Full Time – DC: 15/2

Kaka anytime scorer
