Having lost their last 4 games, Crystal Palace are unlikely to upstage Liverpool's captain on his final home game for Liverpool
1) After a run of four consecutive wins, the Eagles’ form has dipped drastically, and they are currently on a four game losing streak, after falling to West Brom, Hull, Chelsea and Man Utd.
2) However, it is a similar story for their hosts on Saturday – after a run of five wins in February and March, the Reds have won just two of their last seven games.
3) Alan Pardew’s side have not kept a clean sheet in their last 12 games, and have conceded at least two goals in four of their last six. It is 1/2 that this poor defensive record will continue, and that Liverpool will score over 1.5 goals.
4) They have also struggled to score in recent games – since their 4-1 demolition of Sunderland, Palace have only scored once in four games. Facing a side who concedes less than a goal per game at home on average, it is worth backing a Liverpool clean sheet at EVENS.
5) Liverpool have gone into halftime at Anfield leading 1-0 in six of their 18 games this season, and are priced at 5/2 to lead by the same scoreline after 45 minutes on Saturday.
6) “Captain Fantastic” Steven Gerrard has scored the crucial goal in his teams last two games – an 87th minute winner against QPR, and an equalising header against Chelsea last weekend. The skipper is 11/2 to open the scoring in his final game at Anfield.
7) With both sides scoring over 60% of their goals in the final 45 minutes, it’s a no-brainer to back the second half to have the most goals at 21/20.
