Four BTTS picks from Tuesday’s Champions League fixtures

The progression of several renowned clubs in European football is far from certain, guaranteeing some intriguing 2nd legs

Evens Both Teams To Score – Maccabi Tel Aviv v Hibernians

Israel’s most decorated club were stunned in Malta, conceding a late goal to lose the first leg 2-1. Now managed by former Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic, at least one goal is required to get back into the tie and remain on track to qualify for the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2004-05. While Hibernians may opt to protect their slender lead, they will also be aware that an away goal could effectively seal the tie.

5/4 Both Teams To Score – Lincoln v FC Midtjylland

The domestic champions of Gibraltar, who became the first side from the territory to win a UEFA competition tie when progressing from the first qualifying round, will have to produce a near-perfect performance if they are to overturn their 1-0 deficit. The Danish league winners have played European football the last two years and are superior opposition, but the disciplined Lincoln have made history before and will believe they are capable of doing so again.

11/10 Both Teams To Score – Zalgiris v Malmo

Having gone out at this stage of the competition to Dinamo Zagreb 12 months ago, Lithuanian side Zalgiris’ battling 0-0 draw at the Swedish champions not only ended a run of five consecutive losses in UEFA competition, but also gave them a real chance of going one better this year. That confidence boost should help them in the second leg, but Malmo have significant Champions League experience and will still expect to progress.

13/20 Both Teams To Score – Crusaders v Skenderbeu

The Irish league winners are most likely playing for pride following last week’s humbling 4-1 defeat at the home of the Albanian champions. The visitors had been well in the game before conceding two goals in the last 14 minutes and, having appeared to struggle with the climate, should be more comfortable in familiar conditions. Skenderbeu have five successive years of European experience, however, and will be confident of seeing the tie out with few problems.
