Here are Will Rook‘s football tips for Sunderland v Portsmouth on Saturday night.

Charlie Wyke to score first

Wyke was named the club’s player of the month after netting three goals for Sunderland in April, and finally looks to be fulfilling his potential after a slow start to life on Wearside.

He is a likely starter, having featured heavily towards the end of the season and given Will Grigg’s patchy form.

The Black Cats have opened the scoring in both of their previous two meetings with Portsmouth over the last two months and can do so again.

Match to be a draw

But Pompey have replied in both matches and will again be capable of breaching Sunderland’s leaky defence, which has kept just one clean sheet in eight games.

The two played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light on the penultimate weekend of the season, having drawn 2-2 after extra-time in the EFL Trophy final in March.

Lee Cattermole to be carded

Everyone knows Cattermole’s reputation and he hasn’t let anyone down in League One this season.

The midfielder has picked up 13 yellow cards in the league – the equal-third most in the division.

Don’t be surprised if he finds himself in the book again on Saturday night.
