NFL Week 3 caps off tonight, featuring one team coming off a dramatic last-second win and another dealing with injuries to both quarterbacks.
One team has momentum, while the other faces headwinds, if you’re assessing your NFL picks.
The Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) visit Soldier Field in Chicago to take on the Bears (1-1), looking for a second straight road win. Game time is 8:15 p.m. EST. Weather forecast looks good – 17 degrees C, mostly clear, at kickoff.
The Bears opened the season by crushing the Carolina Panthers, 59-37, the highest-scoring season opener in NFL history, with 297 yards rushing, led by D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangi, but Chicago was then held in check by the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, losing 9-3.
Chicago goes into tonight with an uncertain quarterback situation, with Caleb Williams out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent in concussion protocol.
The Eagles, meanwhile, beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in Week 2, off a 3-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Darius Cooper with 9 seconds left.
Case Keenum is expected to start for Chicago if Bagent can’t go. Keenum, 38, hasn’t thrown a pass in an NFL game since December 2023, as a member of the Houston Texans, against the Cleveland Browns.
The Bears are one of the better running teams in the NFL, and that’s where the focus goes tonight – Chicago’s rushing attack versus Philadelphia’s run defence, since the Bears will be without the improvisational quarterback element. The Bears enter the game averaging a league-best 212.5 rushing yards per game. The Eagles have allowed 127 rushing yards per game.
The Bears ran for 281 yards against the Eagles when they met last season, a 24-15 Chicago win over Philadelphia.
Another matchup to watch is on the flip side: Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has only 92 rushing yards through two games, and he’ll face Chicago’s linebackers tonight as the Eagles look to get their running game going.
Key injuries to watch: OT Fred Johnson (knee), WR Hollywood Brown (ankle), and TE Dallas Goedert (knee) are out tonight, and LB Jonathan Greenard is questionable for the Eagles.
On the Chicago side, besides Williams and Bagent, potentially, S Anthony Johnson Jr., DT Shemar Turner (knee), and LB Noah Sewell (Achilles) are out.
Eagles vs Bears Odds
In NFL betting at Betway, the Eagles are -200 moneyline favourites, with the Bears at +165. Philadelphia is also a 3.5-point favourite (-110), while Chicago is +3.5 (-110). The total is set at 41.5, with the Over and the Under at -110.
So according to those odds, Philadelphia is the more likely winner. It’s certainly not a mismatch. The market opened in favour of Chicago with Williams in there but has moved to Philadelphia -3.5.
The total suggests an expectation of a ground-and-pound, run-heavy focus, with diminished expectations around Keenum on the passing side.

Chicago was excellent ATS at home last season (7-3). Their home games also leaned heavily on the Under.
The Eagles were 6-3 ATS on the road in 2025. In early 2026, Philadelphia is 2-0 overall and 0-2 ATS, failing to cover once at home and once on the road. Chicago is 1-1 ATS.

Here are my Eagles vs Bears picks for tonight.
That Under 41.5 is the cleanest play. The line has already slid from 48.5 down to 41.5, which tells you that the market expects a grind.
A 38-year-old QB on short prep doesn’t move the needle at all, and the Eagles’ defence ranks seventh in the NFL in average yards allowed per game (293.0).
I’m also taking the Eagles to cover 3.5. The Williams-Bagent situation lets the Eagles focus on stifling the Bears’ running game, their biggest strength. So, the Eagles force Keenum to beat them. Can the Eagles get ahead and put Keenum in pass situations?
On the prop side, I have my eye on DeVonta Smith over 72.5 receiving yards (-115). The Bears’ secondary has given up 240 passing yards per game, one of the highest in the league.
With Brown out, Hurts’ passing focus shifts to Smith, who already has 170 receiving yards through two weeks.
Hurts anytime TD is +155. The QB hasn’t rushed for a TD yet. Doesn’t matter, though, because his short-yardage role hasn’t disappeared.
