Grey Cup odds: Who are the favourites to win?

Who are the favourites to win the Grey Cup? Learn which teams have the best odds to win the Grey Cup and how you can place bets on the eventual winner yourself!

The CFL season is always an exciting spectacle to follow, with plenty of top teams battling it out to claim the Grey Cup. Despite seeing some changes in the rules with the new 35-second play clock, the 2026 season has seen competitive CFL betting markets, with both the Montreal Alouettes and Edmonton Elks competing at an incredibly high level.

Now, though, it’s time to look past the regular season and ask the question: who are the favourites to win the Grey Cup?

The following blog will cover which teams are competing for the coveted trophy and reviews who’s most likely to win it all at the end of the 2026 season. Read on to learn the favourites to lift the Grey Cup.

Who are the candidates to win according to the latest Grey Cup odds?

In the section below, we’ll cover the candidates most likely to win the Grey Cup according to the CFL betting odds and see which of them have had the best seasons to date, looking at their campaigns so far and any standout players:

Montreal Alouettes

The Montreal Alouettes’ regular season record of 14-4 was the best in the East Division; and throughout the campaign, they’ve proven to be one of the CFL’s most consistent teams, managing to own the league’s best point differential (+148).

Davis Alexander’s campaign has been one of note, proving to be one of the CFL’s most productive quarterbacks. Across the season, he has thrown for 5,257 yards and had just four passes intercepted by opposing defenders. Combine that with 35 touchdown passes and it’s easy to see why he’s regarded so highly this year.

Despite losing in their penultimate game against the Roughriders, the Alouettes won four of their last five games, showing great form heading into the playoffs.

Compared to most rivals for the Grey Cup, the Als have few weaknesses, making them one of the strongest competitors and most popular betting options. They are currently the -110 favourites.

Edmonton Elks

Also among the favourites to lift the Grey Cup are the Edmonton Elks, whose record of 13-5 saw them crowned champions of the West Division. Their point differential is also one to bear in mind, standing at +104 – the second best in the CFL.

The Elks’ standout player has undoubtedly been Cody Fajardo, who’s thrown for 4,788 yards and had ten of his passes intercepted. Alongside 25 touchdown passes, it’s clear that his output has been a massive help to Edmonton’s success this season.

The Elks’ form looks to be among the strongest in the CFL, having won seven of their last nine – stretching back to early August. So, the Elks appear to be carrying plenty of momentum into the playoffs.

With one of the most elite defenses in the CFL, they offer an attractive betting option as they have a chance at performing even when their offensive play isn’t at its best. Their odds are currently +325.

British Columbia Lions

The British Columbia Lions ended the regular season with a record of 10-8, which, although not the best in the CFL, has been enough to give themselves a guaranteed spot in the playoffs this year. Again, while it’s not the best in the division, their +32 point differential is still able to show that they’re a competitive team who can be tough to play against.

Nathan Rourke has yet again proven to be one of the CFL’s most productive quarterbacks, throwing for 4,614 yards and racking up 24 touchdowns. Zander Horvath has also proven to be a handful, with his 19 rushing touchdowns being evidence of his status as one of the league’s greatest goal-line weapons.

Winning five of their last seven games shows that the BC Lions are carrying some solid momentum into the playoffs. Their form and performances this year prove that while they aren’t necessarily the strongest in the CFL, they’re a dangerous outsider who could cause upsets against the league’s top seeds – as they’ve already shown against the Alouettes in mid-September.

Though they can’t necessarily be considered one of the strongest outright teams this year, their elite quarterback play keeps them in contention for any game. Plus, with less pressure on them, they may be able to perform better than rivals, leaving them as ‘dark horses’ in the CFL betting markets. They are +325, tied with the same odds as the Elks.
