Mexico City Grand Prix predictions and tips | F1 betting tips

Best bets and predictions for the F1 race in Mexico City. We provide our Mexico Grand Prix picks for the race winner, podium finishers, points scorers and more.

Kimi Antonelli’s dominant victory in last weekend’s United States Grand Prix may not have been enough to finally clinch the Drivers’ Championship title, but the 20-year-old did take a massive step closer to being crowned Formula 1’s youngest-ever champion and he has a great chance to seal the title in Mexico City.

A top-nine finish at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is all the Italian needs to mathematically seal the title, and he heads to Mexico City as the second favourite in the betting at 8/5 (2.6, +160) to win.

Max Verstappen is the favourite at 7/5 (2.4, +140), while the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton come in at 15/2 (8.5, +750) and 17/2 (9.5, +850) respectively.

With Red Bull and McLaren tied on 355 points in the Constructors’ Championship standings and only 31 points between George Russell in second and Lando Norris in sixth in the Drivers’ Championship, there is plenty to play for in the final five races of the season.

We’ve picked out some value selections for the main F1 betting markets for Sunday’s race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Mexico City Grand Prix race winner betting tips

Max Verstappen to win the Mexico City Grand Prix 11/8

Verstappen could not make it three wins on the bounce in the United States Grand Prix, with the Dutchman reporting some driveability issues in Austin. Still, he did claim another podium finish and can return to the top step at a circuit he has tasted plenty of success at.

The four-time World Champion has won a record five Mexico City Grands Prix, including three of the last five editions, and he is in undeniably excellent form.

Verstappen has two wins, three second-place finishes and three third-place finishes in his last nine Grands Prix and was utterly dominant in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is expected to suit the Red Bull package better, and Verstappen is always capable of producing, so he looks like a justified favourite.

Mexico City Grand Prix podium finish betting tips

Charles Leclerc to finish on the podium 5/4

Leclerc finished second for the second successive race in last weekend’s United States Grand Prix and the Ferrari man looks a likely contender for his seventh podium of the season.

He has not finished lower than fourth in any of his last five races and, despite never winning the Mexico City Grand Prix, he has a solid record at this venue.

Leclerc has finished on the podium here in each of the last three years and the long run down to Turn 1 could further enhance his prospects.

The Ferrari duo have been quick off the line all season, and a run of over 800 metres to the Turn 1 braking zone should give him ample opportunity to capitalise on a good start.

The Scuderia have suffered from straight-line speed in recent races and that could be an issue on the long home straight, but Sectors 2 and 3 should suit their package well and Leclerc may be able to build enough of a buffer to not get swamped on the straight.

Mexico City Grand Prix top six finish betting tips

Isack Hadjar to finish in the top six @ SP

After a brief absence in the Singapore Grand Prix, Isack Hadjar returned to the top six in Austin last weekend and is once again an excellent bet for a top-six finish in Mexico City.

His sixth-place finish in the United States Grand Prix was his tenth top-six finish of the season and all ten of these have come in the last 11 races he has completed.

This is made all the more impressive by the fact that he missed a trio of Grands Prix with a wrist injury, but instantly returned to form with a podium finish in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The 22-year-old appears to be going from strength to strength in his first season at Red Bull Racing, and he will be keen to end the season on a high by continuing his good run.

Mexico City Grand Prix points finish betting tips

Nico Hulkenberg to finish in the points 9/4

Nico Hulkenberg finished 11th for the fifth time this season in the United States Grand Prix, but he is nevertheless a good bet for a top-ten finish in Mexico City.

The veteran Audi driver has been either in the points or on the cusp of points in each of his last eight Grands Prix, finishing no lower than 12th and adding to his tally on four occasions.

He is only three points ahead of Gabriel Bortoleto in the intra-Audi team mate battle and still has a slim chance of catching the out-of-form Oliver Bearman in the World Drivers’ Championship, and he has a relatively promising history at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Hulkenberg has claimed points here in five of his eight appearances, including an excellent sixth-place finish for Renault in the 2018 Mexican Grand Prix.
