There are two meetings coming up on Sunday with Uttoxeter and Pontefract providing the day's action, and we have selections from each track.
We’ve got just the two meetings to sink our teeth into on Sunday and there are some very intriguing races on the schedule at both Pontefract and Uttoxeter.
There’s a Listed contest to look forward to at Pontefract, as well as a Class 3 handicap over 1m2f, and a couple of competitive-looking handicaps over hurdles and fences at Uttoxeter.
Our expert has taken a close look at both of Sunday’s cards and picked out three horse racing betting tips who should be bang in the mix. Amongst them is a David O’Meara runner at Pontefract and the horse in question has been dropped 3lb by the handicapper since her latest effort.

Dan Skelton is a formidable force these days and he looks well set to land the feature handicap chase on the card with SUNRAY SHADOW. This son of Blue Bresil has been consistently improving since the start of the new season and further progress is anticipated.
It’s very important that there’s no soft in the going description and provided the ground stays good, he looks like the one they all have to beat. Connections have been mixing it up with hurdles and fences but the gelding is unbeaten in two starts over the larger obstacles.
He won with plenty in hand over course and distance last time out and the handicapper responded with a fairly lenient rise of 4lb. It would be no surprise if he manages to extend his unbeaten record over fences and should still be significantly ahead of the handicapper.
16:00 Pontefract – Holloway Boy @ SP
There aren’t too many Class 1 performers amongst the six-runner field but one horse who definitely fits the bill is the Karl Burke-trained HOLLOWAY BOY. Admittedly the six-year-old doesn’t win as often as he should but there’s absolutely no excuse this time around.
A Royal Ascot winner at two, he produced a stellar performance on debut to win the Chesham Stakes and he has run well in Group races both at home and in Dubai since, particularly when winning the Group 3 Superior Mile Stakes as a four-year-old.
Returning to winning ways in a Listed contest at Kempton in December, he was narrowly denied when second in the Summer Mile at Ascot last time out and either piece of form suggests he’s a level above any of his five rivals here, so defeat is out of the question.
16:30 Pontefract – Percy’s Daydream @ SP
David O’Meara landed this race last year and there’s every chance that he will do so again this time around, as PERCY’S DAYDREAM looks like the one to side with in this Class 3 contest. She contested a Listed race on her penultimate start and wasn’t exactly disgraced.
Clearly she’s not quite up to that level however but a return to winning ways could be on the cards here. Struggling in a hotter race at Newmarket last time out, the handicapper has responded accordingly, dropping her 3lb, and that makes her life much easier now.
It’s worth noting that she already has two wins to her name this season and the most recent came in impressive fashion at Beverley last month. O’Meara’s filly kicked four lengths clear when winning off a 7lb lower mark and she can repeat the feat by winning here.
