The view of the opposition: West Ham v Leicester

Leicester City’s away form is open to interpretation.

The Foxes – who have recently made their own managerial change, with Claude Puel replacing Craig Shakespeare – are unbeaten in their four previous matches on the road.

They have recorded one win and three draws during that time, and scoring five times in the process.

But as David Moyes prepares to take charge of West Ham for the first time at the London Stadium, he will be confident of achieving a positive result.

Leicester have failed to win five of their six matches away from home this season, with their only triumph coming at struggling Swansea last month.

The Foxes kept just one clean sheet in that sequence, against Bournemouth in September, and conceded 10 times at an average of 1.6 per game.

They were most recently exposed at Stoke City, where they allowed Mark Hughes side to hit the target seven times, two of which resulted in goals.

That will encourage Moyes, whose side managed six shots on target at Watford last weekend.

Stats can be misleading, but the majority of those efforts were not speculative shots from outside the box that were easily held by the goalkeeper.

Hornets goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes made several outstanding saves – including from Marko Arnautovic and Cheikhou Kouyate – while Manuel Lanzini was unfortunate to have an effort brilliantly cleared off the line.

The Hammers, who have scored in four of their five league games at the London Stadium and five in six in all competitions, will surely find the net on Friday.

Preventing Leicester from scoring, however, is something they have failed to do in seasons gone by.

The two sides netted five goals between them last season, having shared three at the Boleyn Ground the season before.

Having been on the wrong side of the result in both of those matches, it would be the perfect start to Moyes’ tenure at the London Stadium should those losses be avenged.
