Liverpool have already forged a three-point lead at the summit after a perfect four from four as they get ready to host Everton in Saturday' derby.
Everton will look to improve their poor Merseyside derby record and end Liverpool’s perfect start to the season when the two rivals meet at Anfield in Saturday’s lunchtime Premier League kick-off.
Four straight defeats at Anfield without scoring a goal tell a lot about how poor Everton’s recent derby record has been.
The Premier League champions are hot favourites to take all three points again, but they may not have it all their own way against an Everton side that have made great strides under David Moyes.
Unbeaten in four, the Toffees look more threatening on the flanks now with Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye flying forward and probably deserved to beat Aston Villa last weekend.

In-form Grealish can lay on a goal
Liverpool have conceded in all but one of their five Premier League and Champions League matches this season and that trend could continue against an Everton side now oozing quality in the wide areas.
Only two midfielders have bettered Grealish’s total of 10 chances created this term while he is currently top of the charts in the Premier League for progressive carries, carries into the penalty area and expected assists.
The former Manchester City man was unlucky not to spark an Everton win against Villa last Saturday when he created five chances, delivered four crosses and had two shots on goal.
In the form he’s in, Grealish should cause problems in Liverpool’s right-back position, which has been like a revolving door with Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley and Dominik Szoboszlai all deployed there recently.
Several of the goals Liverpool have conceded have come down their right, where Ibrahima Konate was described as “all over the place” by Jamie Carragher in the Reds’ recent win at Newcastle.
Leg 1: Jack Grealish to assist 1+ Goals @ 13/2
Gakpo to let fly
No Liverpool player has taken more shots than Cody Gakpo this season and the in-form Dutchman will be looking to test Jordan Pickford whenever possible on Saturday.
The former PSV star recently signed a new long-term contract at Anfield and seems to have made himself undroppable for the big games after a series of consistent displays on the left.
Gakpo has attempted two or more shots in the majority of Liverpool’s recent games and was on a streak of 15 Anfield appearances where he had fired off two or more efforts until Wednesday’s game against Atletico Madrid.
Leg 2: Cody Gakpo to have 2+ Shots @ 9/20
Square peg Garner could be in trouble
Everton’s problem area on Saturday could be at left-back where they are without injured first-choice defender Vitalii Mykolenko.
Midfielder James Garner has been filling in there of late and he could be targeted by Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who has a multitude of options with which to test him.
If Mohamed Salah does not illicit a foul or two and get Garner, who has received three cautions in his last six Premier League games, into card trouble then Slot could send on the pacy Frimpong.
Leg 3: James Garner to be booked @ 5/2
