Football Tips: Saturday’s BTTS 5-fold

We have picked out five games from a busy Saturday of footballing action across the Premier League and EFL in which we expect both teams to score.

It is another busy day in the Premier League and the Football League on Saturday as the divisions start to take shape and there are plenty of intriguing fixtures.

We have picked five games that are likely to see both teams score and combined them into an appealing 14/1 acca.

Saturday BTTS 5-fold

  • Manchester United vs Sunderland – BTTS @ 31/40

  • Bristol City vs QPR – BTTS @ 8/11

  • Derby vs Southampton – BTTS @ 10/11

  • Reading vs Mansfield – BTTS @ 4/6

  • Salford vs Grimsby – BTTS @ 4/7

Manchester United vs Sunderland (Saturday, 3pm)

The pressure shows no sign of easing on Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and Premier League new boys Sunderland will be confident that they can make their mark at Old Trafford.

United won 2-1 in their last home match against Chelsea, but their defence was exposed in the 3-1 defeat to Brentford last week and the Black Cats should be buoyed by a recent 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.

Bristol City vs QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

There have been 24 goals in QPR’s eight Championship matches this season and the Londoners will be more than hopeful that they can get something from their trip to Bristol City.

Both teams have scored in six of their second-tier outings this term and, with City demonstrating that last season’s play-off berth was no fluke, this has all the makings of a tight and entertaining game at Ashton Gate.

Derby vs Southampton (Saturday, 3pm)

Four of Derby County’s eight Championship matches this season have been score-draws, including their last two against promoted Wrexham and Charlton, both of which ended 1-1.

The Rams have recovered from a shaky start where they conceded eight goals in their opening two games, but they have kept just one clean sheet which is good news for visiting Southampton.

Both teams have scored in seven of the Saint’s eight league matches since they were relegated and that pattern could continue at Pride Park.

Reading vs Mansfield (Saturday, 3pm)

Reading are beginning to recover from losing their opening three games of the League One campaign.

However, the Royals have still kept just one clean sheet all season, so we could see some goals when Nigel Clough’s Mansfield Town head to Berkshire on Saturday.

They have scored in each of their last seven outings, while both teams have scored in four of the Stags’ five away games this season, with the Nottinghamshire outfit failing to find the net in just one of their 10 matches this term.

Salford vs Grimsby (Saturday, 3pm)

Fourth takes on fifth in a potential cracker in League Two and the showdown between Salford City and Grimsby Town should not disappoint.

Both teams have scored in each of Salford’s last five league outings while the Mariners, who famously knocked Manchester United out of the EFL Cup in a penalty shootout this season, will be full of confidence after they claimed a 7-1 victory over struggling Cheltenham Town last Saturday.
