Derby v Southampton
Derby’s pre-season has got off to an entertaining start, with Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Notts County followed by a 3-1 defeat at Mansfield on Wednesday.
And, after Frank Lampard completed the loan signings of Harry Wilson and Mason Mount this week, goals are hardly likely to dry up for the Rams.
Given that Southampton’s first two friendlies have finished 2-3 and 3-3, both teams to score is the obvious bet.
Oxford v Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have started pre-season where they left off in May, scoring eight goals in their first two friendlies.
But, having also conceded in each of their matches against FC Helsingor and Halmstad, Roy Hodgson’s side are vulnerable to Oxford.
The League One club have scored 16 goals in their five first-team friendlies so far this summer, and should make their mark at least once against Premier League opposition.
Notts County v Leicester
Notts County followed a 3-1 win over non-league Basford United with a 4-1 defeat against Derby last weekend, and this match should follow a similarly entertaining pattern.
Kevin Nolan has invested heavily in his side’s attack, and they are capable of catching Leicester cold on Saturday.
The Foxes are yet to play this summer, but have only failed to score in two of their last 22 pre-season friendlies.
Paderborn v Monaco
Both teams have scored in five of Monaco’s last six pre-season friendlies, including in two of their three so far this summer.
Leonardo Jardim’s side have netted three goals in each of their last two matches in the last fortnight, while conceding twice to Cercle Brugge a week ago.
Given that Paderborn’s three friendlies have finished 3-4, 1-1 and 2-3 so far this summer, this is bound to be an entertaining match.
