Europa League 5 fold – Opt for European Pedigree in pursuit of profit

Spanish clubs set to continue their dominance of UEFA’s second tier competition

Dortmund 1/4 to beat Krasnodar

Tournament favourites Dortmund look home bankers in their opening group stage fixture against FC Krasnodar of Russia. The BVB have been emphatic in the Bundesliga so far under new coach Thomas Tuchel. Currently top of the table with four wins from four, the 2013 Champions League finalists have scored 15 goals in the league as well as 11 in the qualifying round against FC Odd. Krasnodar’s only victory in last season’s Europa League Group stage came on the final match day when they beat Everton, who had already qualified for the next phase.

Napoli 11/20 to beat Club Brugge

The Partenopei were beaten in the Semi-Final last season suggesting they are one of the teams who take this competition seriously.  Napoli’s strong home form saw them win all three of their group stage games on the way to the Semi-Final’s, and were only beaten on three occasions in Serie A last season. This strong home form should be enough for them to see off Club Brugge. The Belgians have already shown they are no match for Europe’s elite when losing 7-1 on aggregate in their Champions League Qualifier against Man Utd.

Monaco 27/20 to beat Anderlecht

Monaco are unfortunate to be in this competition after a narrow Champions League Qualifying round defeat to Valencia. Having exceeded expectations last season in the Champions League by reaching the Quarter Finals, the French side look good value to make it a bad night for Belgian sides.  Anderlecht disappointed last season by only finishing third in their domestic league, and being eliminated in the Round of 32 in the Europa League having dropping out of the Champions League Group Stage.

Villarreal 23/20 to beat Rapid Vienna

With four of the last 6 Europa League renewals being won by Spanish sides there is no doubt that clubs from La Liga take this competition seriously. Villarreal were defeated in the knockout stages last season by eventual winners Sevilla, and look likely to go well again this season. After making a bright start to their domestic campaign, the Spaniards have a superior squad and more European experience than their Austrian opponents.

Athletic Bilbao 8/13 to beat Augsburg

Given the pedigree of Spanish sides in this competition, Bilbao make plenty of appeal at home. With a wealth of European experience including playing in last season’s Champions League Group stages, the Los Leones should have too much for the German outfit who are making their European debut and are without a win so far this season domestically.
