Don’t speculate: 5 home bankers from the Football League for a perfect acca

Port Vale to continue home dominance, plus four more picks on a coupon boosted from 24/1 to 28/1...

Port Vale to beat Oldham – {ODDS:122293463:6/4}

After their 2-0 defeat away at Charlton, Port Vale do not jump out as a banker in this set of fixtures.

Unbeaten in four at Vale Park, though, they boast the second-best home form in League One, bettered only by league leaders Scunthorpe.

Oldham, meanwhile, have won just once away from home in seven league matches and sit third-bottom having scored just nine goals this season – the fewest in the division.

Southend to beat Swindon – {ODDS:122294967:Evens}

Southend are flying at home, having won six and drawn two of their last eight.

That is largely down to a near-impregnable defence that has conceded just one goal in the last four at Roots Hall.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Swindon, who have shipped seven in their last two matches – including three against Eastleigh of the National League in an FA Cup replay.

With just one away win in the league all season, it looks likely to be another wasted trip for the Robins.

Sheffield United to beat Bury – {ODDS:122294451:4/9}

Few fixtures all season will look more nailed-on than this one.

A second away drubbing within a week against AFC Wimbledon condemned Bury to their eighth straight league defeat and 12th game without a win.

That 5-1 loss at Kingsmeadow means the Shakers have now conceded 14 goals in their last three matches in all competitions.

It should simply be a case of how many for promotion-chasing Sheffield United, then, who have scored 14 in their last four.

The Blades are also unbeaten in eight matches – winning seven – and have climbed to second place in League One.

If there is a team to halt that run, then it does not look like being Bury.

Rochdale to beat Walsall – {ODDS:122293948:19/20}

Rochdale’s 4-0 win over Swindon at the weekend was their eighth straight home victory, and they should make that nine this week.

Having kept five consecutive clean sheets at Spotland – scoring 12 goals in the meantime – it is easy to see why Dale have performed so well.

Walsall’s one win away from home all season looks paltry in comparison.

With just one clean sheet in five, the Saddlers look set for another defeat.

Plymouth to beat Barnet – {ODDS:122300432:3/4}

Despite losing 3-0 to Grimsby last weekend, Plymouth should be backed to make amends against Barnet.

That defeat was their first in 15 league matches, a run that goes back to 14 August and has taken them to the top of League Two.

The Pilgrims, though, still boast the division’s most formidable defence, having conceded just 17 goals.

Barnet, on the other hand, have shipped the same number in their away fixtures alone.

Considering that the Bees are without a win in four, a midweek trip to Home Park is hardly ideal.
