Bookies Fear Another Hiding As FA Cup Rolls Into Town

Spurs and Baggies Amongst Likeliest Winners This Weekend

A bad week for bookmakers with the top 7 teams in the Premier League all winning. The FA Cup takes centre stage though this weekend and there look to be great bets spread across all competitions.

Spurs Top 4 Hopes To Be Strengthened As QPR Survival Hopes Weaken

There is only one Premier League match this weekend and it sees Spurs travel to struggling QPR.

Spurs look a great price at 4/5 considering they are fifth from top in the form table, winning 4 and drawing one of their last 6 (only losing to the very much in form Liverpool).

They also bounced back well from their League Cup Final defeat with a good performance at home to Swansea on Wednesday (they were much more dominant than the 3-2 scoreline suggests).

QPR have lost 5 of their last 6 and look destined for the drop.

Spurs are normally a pretty reliable betting proposition on the road, having won 5 of their last 8 league away games.

4/5 – Spurs to beat QPR

Sherwood’s Survival Instincts Make Villa Vulnerable In Cup

It is interesting to see Aston Villa meet West Brom at Villa Park again on Saturday in the FA Cup, a repeat of Tuesday’s Premier League match.

Villa came out on top in that match thanks for a fortunate last minute penalty but there is every reason to think West Brom can progress here.

Whilst Tony Pulis has already got West Brom 8 points clear of the relegation zone, Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa are just 3 points ahead of the bottom three.

Last season when Sherwood took over at Spurs his side were eliminated immediately from both domestic cups at the first time of asking.

It was clear where his priorities lay then and Aston Villa’s league form now is of much more importance.

With many top teams already out of this year’s competition Tony Pulis will be eyeing his second FA Cup Final having guided Stoke to Wembley in 2011.

7/4 – West Brom to beat Aston Villa

Rotherham Away Woes Likely To Continue This Weekend

In the Championship Rotherham are often a team to oppose when playing away from home.

On the road they’ve only picked up 2 points from their last 6 games.

Their opponents Huddersfield are not the greatest team in the world but that is very much considered in the price of 21/20 and a recent record of 3 home wins and a draw from 6 games reads well in the context of this fixture.

21/20 – Huddersfield to beat Rotherham

Gills To Prove Last Week Was Just A Blip

Gillingham may have cost this column last week but they responded well during the week with a 3-0 win at high flying Swindon to prove they are still very much in form.

They’ve been great at home recently with 4 wins from 5 and they face a Doncaster team here that has managed just 1 win in 6 away from home.

Gillingham are being continually overpriced by odds compilers and 7/4 here looks outstanding value.

7/4 – Gillingham to beat Doncaster

Bury A Sweet Bet To Send United Home Pointless

One of the best bets of the weekend comes in the game between Bury and Oxford in League Two.

Bury are top of the form table with 4 wins and 2 draws from 6 matches whilst Oxford are near the bottom of the form table with only 1 win from their last 6 matches.

The 4/5 available on a home win here looks rather generous considering the difference in form between the sides.

4/5 – Bury to beat Oxford

A £10 acca on Spurs, West Brom, Huddersfield, Gillingham and Bury pays approx £502.30
