Ahead of national Burrito Day, we've revealed North America's favourite burrito fillings.
National Burrito Day is right around the corner on April 4th, so what better way to celebrate than by tucking into your favorite burrito? But what exactly is America’s favorite burrito? To find out, online slots site Betway analyzed Google search data to determine which fillings were the most popular in each region.
The data analyzed from Google Trends shows the average yearly search volume for each type of burrito preferred in all 50 states and key Canadian cities. The results are intriguing, but more importantly, they reveal how loved burritos are across North America!
Top Burrito Topping Searches
There is some debate as to which burrito is the King of the South, with Arkansas, Georgia, and Mississippi’s favorite being a traditional beef burrito compared to Alabama, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas who prefer a chicken burrito.
Meanwhile, in California, a chicken burrito is their favorite choice. The Golden State also has the highest overall search volume for burritos, doubling the overall search volume of Texas which was in second place.
Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Carolina, and Michigan are all in favor of chicken burritos with it being placed as the most popular burrito.

Toronto, which has the most Google searches for burritos out of the selected Canadian cities, has a chicken burrito in first place. Calgary, Vancouver, and Quebec City are all in agreement with Toronto too, although Ottawa and Montreal have a different opinion when it comes to the battle of burritos with both preferring beef burritos.
With it being so close to National Burrito Day, it’s the perfect time for millions to get their favorite burrito… and it’s a good thing there are so many to choose from!!
