England take on Spain at Wembley, their first match since World Cup semi-final elimination to Argentina in July.
Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has come under considerable fire since then, but remains in the job and must see this game as the start of the rebuilding process towards a home Euros in two years’ time.

While England still can’t shrug off their issues against elite opposition at major tournaments, their record otherwise is not as poor.
While they don’t play this calibre of opposition often, the Three Lions have only lost one of their last three home clashes with Spain, and have also beaten Italy, Germany and France at Wembley in recent memory.
The visitors themselves may well be in cruise mode here, having achieved everything they could want to by holding both the World Cup and European Championship titles simultaneously.

Anthony Gordon to score
Gordon has made himself a popular man in Spain since the summer, starting life at Barcelona impressively.
And having scored England’s last meaningful goal – the opener in that Argentina defeat – he could be the key to opening up a side featuring several of his club team-mates.
Spain keep the ball brilliantly but do play a very high line, something Gordon will be charged with threatening whenever his side get the chance to counter-attack, while Harry Kane will be providing the ammunition from deep.
Ferran Torres to score
Team news may scupper us here, but Torres’ form means he should start and be a real goal threat.
The forward has backed up scoring the winner in the World Cup final by making a superb start to life at PSG, netting seven goals in six appearances – including a Champions League hat-trick.
He may benefit from playing on the left, too, considering England have real problems at right-back.
Rodri to take 1+ shot
To finish off, let’s back Rodri to have a pop at goal at a short price.
The new Barca man was back at his best during the summer and provided a goal threat, too – taking at least one shot in six of Spain’s eight matches.
Having also had four efforts in his last four domestic outings, he is bound to be involved at the right end of the pitch again.
