The home crowd will be hoping for another British Wimbledon finalist, but the evergreen Federer looks as good as ever and may just prove too much once again for the Scot.
It’s a clash of two grass court titans, as Queens champion Andy Murray takes on Halle winner Roger Federer for a place in the Wimbledon semi-finals.
Federer’s tally of 15 titles on grass is more than any other player in open era history, and it’s this experience and expertise that can see him through the British number one.
Federer has been the tournaments’ form player so far, dropping just one set, and spending the least amount of time on court. The 17-time Grand Slam champion will also go into the encounter knowing he has the beating of Murray with five wins in his last six against the Scot.
Andy can of course count on a vocal backing from the crowd and his skinny 10/11 to win the match can largely be attributed to the ‘home’ advantage. Federer though, will not be short of supporters himself.
Their last meeting at Wimbledon produced a thrilling four set victory for the evergreen Swiss, and another Federer v Djokovic final looks too good an opportunity to pass up.
It’s all set up to be an epic, so back the Fed Express to seal the win in 5.
