We are down to the final four competitors in the women's draw at the US Open and more excitement is predicted in the semi-final showdowns.

We’ve reached the last four of the US Open women’s singles and the two matches promise to provide us with epic encounters at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka will be fresh going into her semi-final, after Marketa Vondrousova was forced to pull out of the quarter-final through injury.

Sabalenka will face the impressive Jessica Pegula, who will have the home support on her side as the American looks to reach the final in New York for the second successive year.

The other semi-final sees Japan’s Naomi Osaka continue her search for a third US Open title, as she faces another home favourite in Amanda Anisimova.

Selections

Jessica Pegula to win @ 5/2
Naomi Osaka to win 2-1 @ 13/4

Pegula in the form of her life

Pegula is arguably playing the best tennis of her career in 2025, a year she has won five times on the WTA Tour with three of those coming on hard courts.

Last year’s beaten US Open finalist has not dropped a set on her way to the last-four stage of the 2025 edition and only one of her five matches has taken longer than one hour and 30 minutes.

Sabalenka is the favourite, especially after beating Pegula in last year’s final, and she is looking to claim her fourth career Grand Slam title.

But the world number one has been unable to collect one of the major titles so far this year and a walkover in the quarters might not be as helpful as some have suggested.

The Belarussian has a 7-2 record over her semi-final opponent, but it’s worth noting that Pegula’s two wins have both come on hard courts.

Tip: Jessica Pegula to win @ 5/2

Osaka can stay on track for New York hat-trick

Despite being a two-time winner at Flushing Meadows, many felt Naomi Osaka’s chances of claiming a third New York title had disappeared.

Becoming a mum in 2023 and openly admitting to mental health issues, the former world number one struggled to make an impact on her return to the Grand Slam arena.

But a switch to a new coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski, this summer looks to have had a huge impact and she is back to her best.

The 27-year-old has beaten the likes of Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova without dropping a set, as she prepares to face the impressive Anisimova.

The American has never previously been past the third round in New York, but lost just seven games in her straight-sets win over Iga Swiatek in the quarters.

The stats suggest though that Osaka, who has lost her previous two matches with Anisimova, will have the edge in a tight contest.

The Japanese star is ranked second in the women’s draw for converting break points and has also won 74% of first-serve points.

Tip: Naomi Osaka to win 2-1 @ 13/4
