6/4 – Washington Redskins to beat Chicago Bears
With the NFC East up for grabs this season, the Washington Redskins might not have a better opportunity to reach the play-offs in a poor year.
They struggled badly against the Dallas Cowboys with the pressure on them but with some impressive performances this season, they will be hopeful that they can bounce back at Soldier Field.
The Bears should have won last weekend after allowing the clock to run all the way down before missing what would have been the game-winning field goal against the San Francisco 49ers.
They got burned on an overtime touchdown and with their inability to score heavily, this Washington team should have enough to outlast them and stay in the driving seat in their division.
10/11 – Philadelphia Eagles to beat Buffalo Bills
Buffalo got a good win against the Houston Texans last week following a big start by Rex Ryan’s men but they blow hot and cold each week.
They have weapons on both sides of the field but they are yet to click and despite former Eagle LeSean McCoy being fired up for this one, this is a trap game for the Bills.
Philadelphia managed to pull off a highly unlikely win against the New England Patriots in Foxborough and that should give them a huge confidence boost.
Their special teams were truly special and they will need a similar performance from their improving defence to swarm on a varied Bills attack.
4/6 – Detroit Lions to beat St Louis Rams
The Lions’ play-off hopes were dashed after the last second Hail Mary for Aaron Rodgers on Thursday night, but they still showed how much the team have improved since their drubbing at Wembley.
They have got their offence started again, mainly down to the form of Theo Riddick and the fact that Calvin Johnson looks back to his best.
St Louis have struggled regularly this season and that is mainly down to their inept offensive output, despite a good spell from rookie running back Todd Gurley.
He has cooled off in the last few weeks and the Rams scoring has suffered dramatically because of that, opening the door for Detroit this week.
20/29 – Cincinnati Bengals to beat Pittsburgh Steelers
The Bengals are back on their hot streak after a few weeks off the boil and head into this one knowing that a win secures the division.
They are possibly the most balanced team in the NFL – fourth in points scored, first in points allowed and have a turnover differential of plus eight, the fourth best in the league.
The Steelers have an incredibly potent offence that was fully on display on Sunday evening and they will be desperate to keep their wildcard run on track.
However, this Cincinnati defence is just too much of a powerhouse for Pittsburgh to rack up the points they usually get in wins, so expect Andy Dalton to lead his team back to the promised land of the play-offs.
21/20 – San Francisco 49ers to beat Cleveland Browns
In a game between two below-par teams this season, there can only be one winner and that should be the San Francisco 49ers.
They have struggled this year but got a real morale-boosting win against the Bears and with Blaine Gabbert fighting for a job, he will not have a better chance.
The Browns have been their typical selves, with poor play and horrendously unfortunate moments yet again plaguing their play.
Johnny Manziel will start for the third time as he attempts to show that he is worth keeping around but that plan will falter as the 49ers edge this bottom-dweller clash.
