2/7 – New England Patriots to beat the New York Giants
Three things in life are guaranteed in life: death, taxes and the New England Patriots winning an NFL game.
They are simply striding through games on a mixture of great coaching for Bill Belichick and great quarterback play from the evergreen Tom Brady.
The Giants have rebounded after a mixed start and have an improving offence that will keep this game competitive for as long as they can.
However, without a run game and at the level Brady is playing at the moment, this is only going one way.
13/10 – Minnesota Vikings to beat the Oakland Raiders
Two rising teams meet in California but the unwritten rule in the NFL is that a good defence will usually beat a good offence.
The Vikings have shown through eight games that they can hang with anyone and their young core mixed with a savvy veteran like Adrian Peterson makes them a legitimate playoff threat.
Oakland are further ahead than many predicted and showed their quality last week, but against a team that grinds, the young team are likely to crumble.
Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer is a quality coach with a rising team and they’ll edge out the Raiders in another close affair.
5/11 – Carolina Panthers to beat the Tennessee Titans
The surprise unbeaten team of the season so far are the Carolina Panthers, who have much about them without too many star names.
Credit to Ron Rivera for bringing this team together, but they are much stronger on offence this year and added to an already impressive defence.
The Titans, somehow, ran out of New Orleans with a win, but under interim head coach Mike Murlarkey and a lack of quality players, they’ll be overrun on this one.
Marcus Mariota has impressed but it won’t be enough and the Panthers have a real shot at going unbeaten all season.
20/49 – Denver Broncos to beat the Kansas City Chiefs
Despite the loss last weekend, there is no doubt that the Denver Broncos are one of the best teams in the AFC.
Their defence was finally breached by a good offensive team and, while on paper they are facing a team that put up 45 points in their last game, they have enough to stop the Chiefs.
Kansas City have improved in the last two weeks against weakened teams but without Jamaal Charles they can’t compete against teams of this calibre.
Peyton Manning hasn’t looked bad in the last few weeks and when he’s lifted by his defence, there aren’t many teams that can stop the Broncos from winning.
29/20 – Arizona Cardinals to beat the Seattle Seahawks
The Cardinals have grown into a solid team led by a group of veterans playing just as they did in their youth and a head coach that just has that magic touch.
Arizona can score heavy with plenty of weapons and have an opportunistic defence that is not too dissimilar to their more famous counterparts.
Seattle are yet to click on offence this season, while their defence has regressed from their dominant form of the last two seasons.
This will be a close one but Seattle have failed to beat teams on their level this season and Arizona will seize their chance to take control of the NFC West.
