Houston are one of a number of NFL teams enjoying a winning streak - here are five sides to bear in mind for your accumulator this weekend
7/5 – Houston Texans to beat the Buffalo Bills
Houston have been on a roll of late after winning their last four and come into this one with a real chance of winning the AFC South.
They conceded 44 points to the Miami Dolphins two months ago but since then they have allowed just 37 points across their last four games.
Buffalo are fighting for their play-off lives and have been streaky at best this season, losing four of their last six games.
With the NFL’s sack leader JJ Watt on their side and the momentum behind their back, it is difficult to look past the Texans in this one.
5/4 – Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Tennessee Titans
Even with a record of 4-7, Jacksonville still have a slim chance at making the play-offs while one more win will give them their best record in recent memory.
They have some promising players, especially on offence, and, with age on their side, the Jaguars finally look like a team going somewhere after years of stagnation.
Tennessee also have some talent but they are yet to fully gel, and it tells in the scant number of points that they have scored so far.
They have the third-worst points scored average in the NFL and after narrowly missing out in their previous game, expect the Jags to complete the sweep in Nashville.
5/7 – New York Jets to beat the New York Giants
The battle of New York is always an interesting affair and since it does not represent a real away game should be a simple win for the Jets.
They cut short their two-game losing streak with a win last weekend and, with a record of 6-5, they know that a wildcard spot is well within their grasp.
The Giants still have a chance at the NFC East crown in a division that nobody seems to want to win, but they did themselves no favours with an abysmal performance against the Washington Redskins last time out.
The Jets’ mean away-team defence will be waiting to eat the Giants alive.
5/7 – Seattle Seahawks to beat the Minnesota Vikings
Seattle kept their season alive last week with a nail-biting win against the Pittsburgh Steelers and that might just prove to be the kick-start that the team needs.
They finally showed some real steel on offence and they will face a stern test in the Minnesota VIkings, who are second in points allowed in the NFL.
Their defence has kept many teams at bay but their offence needs to catch up.
Despite having league-leading rusher Adrian Peterson, he will surely be slowed down considerably by the fifth best run defence.
The Seahawks aren’t too shabby running the ball themselves, and look set to profit against a Minnesota side who are yet to beat a team bound for the play-offs so far this season.
4/6 – Kansas City Chiefs to beat the Oakland Raiders
The Chiefs have won their last five in a row and have not turned the ball over in any of those games.
They also have 14 takeaways and more possession usually means more points, which will deeply worry the Oakland Raiders.
Their youthful team have lost their head of steam in the last few weeks, losing three of their last four – although their play-off dreams could well hinge on the result here.
It has been surprising how well Kansas City have dealt with injuries, and a win against Oakland would allow them to have one eye on the play-offs already.
