It’s Sussex Day at Glorious Goodwood on Wednesday and it looks like a red-hot renewal of the big mile race of the week.
Bow Echo takes on the likes of Opera Ballo and Gstaad and there are also a couple of Group 3 races on a stellar seven-race card.
We have a trio of selections for day two, including one in the feature race, one in the opener, and another in the finale.

William Muir and Chris Grassick’s yard are showing signs of turning a corner and they have an interesting contender for Wednesday’s opener.
BLUE HERCULES made a promising start to his career, finishing fourth in a Newbury maiden second time out and he bettered that effort when beaten by roughly two lengths at Chepstow in May.
He had no chance from a low draw at Royal Ascot but he got firmly back on track at that venue earlier this month when beaten by just a neck.
If he can settle better in the early stages, there should be more to come and even with a 2lb rise to cope with, Blue Hercules looks potentially well handicapped.
16:10 Goodwood – Opera Ballo @ 4/1
Bow Echo is quite rightly favourite for Wednesday’s feature race but it’s not going to be straightforward for him at Goodwood where tactics can be a key factor.
One horse that ought to get a clear passage is the out-and-out front-runner, OPERA BALLO.
He got his head back in front in the Group 2 Al Rashidiya at Meydan over the winter and put up another big front-running performance to land a first success at the highest level with a win in the Jebel Hatta.
He then took the scalp of Field Of Gold at Sandown on his first outing off the plane and it was an even better effort in defeat when a close third in the Queen Anne last time out, a run worth upgrading having set unsustainable fractions from the front.
This track should play to his strengths and he should arguably be closer in the betting to this year’s 2,000 Guineas winner.
17:40 Goodwood – Goldmoyne @ 15/2
Another front-runner that looks worth chancing is GOLDMOYNE in Wednesday’s finale.
Despite the 20-runner field, there’s a lack of pace in the contest and he may be able to gain an uncontested lead from stall six.
Goldmoyne has been in the form of his life recently, only caught late on in a competitive handicap at York last time out, and he now gets Mason Paetel back in the saddle, a young rider who is good value for the 5lb he can still claim.
With the yard in flying form, he looks like the one that is worth chancing at the prices.
