PGA Championship 2026 tips: Three best each-way bets

The second Major of the golf season gets underway on Thursday, as the world’s best players congregate at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania for the PGA Championship.

Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion and the world number one will be looking to secure his fourth Major title this week.

Here are three players to consider if you are eyeing an outright winner bet on the 2026 PGA Championship.

Three best each-way bets

  • Rory McIlroy @ 15/2

  • Tommy Fleetwood @ 20/1

  • Gary Woodland @ 80/1

More Major glory for Rory?

Aronimink has not hosted a Major since 1962 but it was the venue for a PGA Tour event – the BMW Championship – back in 2018.

There were joint leaders after round one of that tournament, with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy carding eight-under-par 62s.

The Northern Irishman went on to finish fifth, just two shots behind eventual winner Keegan Bradley, and will go into this week’s tournament high on confidence.

As well as claiming a second Green Jacket last month, McIlroy has recorded a T2 at The Genesis Invitational, as well as two other top-20 finishes.

The 37-year-old, who is a two-time PGA champion, shares the course record with his BMW Championship opening round eight years ago.

McIlroy leads the Tour in Tee-to-Green and Off-the-Tee stats and is ranked second in Birdie Average, which could be key when you consider the winning score in the BMW Championship was -20.

Tip 1: Rory McIlroy @
15/2

Fleetwood could finally find Major success

Five players share the course record at Aronimink but Tommy Fleetwood is the only man to have carded a 62 on two occasions.

The Englishman fired an eight-under-par score on day two of the BMW Championship in 2018, before repeating the feat the next day.

Fleetwood is still looking for his first Major, but most golf fans would agree that he is getting ever closer to finding that elusive title.

The man from Southport won the FedEx Cup last year and, in the process, won his first tournament on the PGA Tour.

Fleetwood has no fewer than seven top-five finishes in Major tournaments, including a T5 spot at the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.

The 35-year-old is ranked inside the top 10 on the PGA Tour this season in the Tee-to-Green, Around the Green and Driving Accuracy Percentage stats.

Tip 2 – Tommy Fleetwood @ 20/1

Experienced Woodland one to watch

If you are looking for a bigger price each-way option this week, then it is worth considering Gary Woodland.

He may have now moved into his 40s but Woodland is playing as well as ever, already securing a PGA Tour title this year.

The American won the Houston Open back in March and there has been no signs of easing off since then, with a top-10 and top-20 finish in two of his next four events.

Woodland, who won the US Open in 2019, will also have happy memories of Aronimink, having secured a T12 finish back in 2018 – when he recorded rounds of 66-66-66-67.

Woodland missed the cut at last year’s PGA Championship, but has rediscovered his form in the last 12 months and will feel he can build on his T33 finish at the Masters.

Tip 3: Gary Woodland @ 80/1
