Back to win: Haotong Li –

Li won this tournament – his home event – in 2016, and has an excellent chance of doing so again after taking a couple of weekends off since a T32 at the Masters.

The 22-year-old clearly has star quality after finishing third at the 2017 Open before beating Rory McIlory by a shot to win the Dubai Desert Classic in January.

He also came close to winning the Shenzhen International in China three years ago when he was just 19, losing out to Kiradech Aphibarnrat in a playoff, and has three other wins on the PGA Tour China to his name.

A real force in his home country, the shot is hard to turn down this week.

Each-way shout: Pablo Larrazabal –

A win looks to be just around the corner for Larrazabal, who has picked up three finishes of fourth or better in his last six starts.

The Spaniard missed the cut in Morocco last week but is a proven winner with four European Tour victories to his name, memorably edging out McIlroy by a shot to win the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi back in 2014.

This is clearly an event that Larrazabal enjoys, as he’s finished inside the top 10 five times in 10 starts and came third at Topwin last year.

With Betway paying seven places in China this week, he’s definitely worth an each-way bet.

Outside shot: Nacho Elvira –

The big-hitting Elvira has a real chance this weekend at a course that tends to suit players who drive it a long way.

The four-time PGA Tour winner finished 15th in this event at in 2014 and 36th last year, and should improve upon those results after coming third at the Open de Espana a fortnight ago and 22nd in Morocco last week.

The Spaniard’s got a good record in China, winning the 2013 Foshan Open on the Champions Tour and finishing eighth in Shenzhen in 2016.

He’s worth a punt at a pretty big price.
