How to read Brazil betting odds
Presenting Brazil odds using fractional terms is standard in the UK and at Betway. In essence, this means that each individual outcome is assigned a fraction that represents how likely it is to happen. If the fraction is smaller, there’s a higher chance of that outcome happening (e.g. 1/3). But if the fraction is larger, there’s a lesser chance of the outcome happening (e.g. 20/1).
With this method of presenting odds, it’s extremely easy to work out how much money you’d earn if you won. All you need to do is divide the amount you staked by the number on the right side of the fraction, then multiply that number by the left side of the fraction. (And don’t forget that you’ll have your stake returned as well!)

An example of Brazil football odds
In this year’s World Cup, Brazil’s odds of beating Morocco have been set at 1/2. If you put a £4 bet on this match, you would earn a total of £6 back (4 ÷ 2 = 2, then 2 × 1 = 2, plus the £4 you originally staked).
The odds of Cape Verde defeating Brazil have been set at 5/1, meaning they’re less likely to win as it’s a higher fraction. So, if you put a £4 bet on this match, you’d earn £24 (4 ÷ 1 = 4, then 4 × 5 = 20, plus the £4 you originally staked).
As you can see, there’s a chance of earning more money when betting on the higher odds. However, this is because this bet is less likely to be successful compared to outcomes with lower odds. So, keep this in mind before you place your bets!
