WOW! What a turnaround! After last week’s 21-point thrashing, comes this week’s 19-point walloping of James Jones and having all-but lost all hope two gameweeks ago, I am back within five points of the fun vacuum.
My 63 points to James’ 44 means I am now on 825 and Jonesy is on 830 and my momentum shows no sign of stopping.
Anthony Gordon came up with the goods again while my pick of captain Haaland over James’ Salah also bore fruit.
But no time to rest on my laurels, it’s time to move ahead of James for the first time in weeks.
One transfer as West Ham’s leaky defence renders Alphonse Areola a terrible pick and he drops out and Liverpool stand in keeper Caoimhin Kelleher comes in for their game at Sheffield United while Alisson remains out.
The Irishman starts behind four at the back for the first time in a while.
I reckon I have at least three clean sheets in there and maybe a goal.
Salah gets the armband although it was 50/50 between him and Saka whose Arsenal go to Luton.
And it’s Haaland up front with Watkins with City and Villa squaring off.
Momentum is with me even though I consistently keep leaving big points on the bench.
Jonesy no doubt quivering in his boots and I can’t wait to ruin his Christmas with my inevitable 100-point lead by New Years Day.
You heard it here first!

GW14 was another poor week for me. Two in a row. It means Will has cut my lead over him to just 5 points. It’s tragic, it really is.
I was ‘forced’ into a very late transfer before the GW14 deadline due to increasing rumours that Ollie Watkins wouldn’t be playing. Instead he did and scored one and assisted another. I replaced him with Alexander Isak, who blanked.
To top it off, captain Mohamed Salah only managed a measly assist as Liverpool put four past Fulham. Another gameweek to forget.
So it’s on to GW15 and a chance to put it right. I’m tempted to reinstate Watkins for Isak, but with Villa facing Man City and Arsenal in their next two fixtures, I’m not sure that’s the right move. Not when Isak is up against Everton and Spurs.
Matty Cash will be on my bench this week, with Marc Guehi replacing him. David Raya returns in goal, with Arsenal’s trip to Luton offering up a solid chance of a clean sheet.
In midfield, I have a serious dilemma. James Ward-Prowse is no longer returning consistent attacking returns, while Cole Palmer was strangely dropped for Chelsea’s win over Brighton. But I don’t want to spend any more points, so I’m only making one transfer. I also want to keep some money in the bank so I can bring Watkins back in before Christmas.
The decision is to sell JWP and replace him with Anthony Gordon. Yes, Eddie Howe confirmed the midfielder was suffering with a “tight hip” at the end of the Magpies’ win over Man United, but he’s scored in his last two – and has six goals and five assists so far this term – and isn’t expected to be sidelined for Newcastle’s trip to Everton this week. That leaves me with £1.0m in the bank to reinvest when I need to, which isn’t to be sniffed at.
My captain this week is an easy pick. It stays on Salah’s arm as Liverpool travel to Sheffield United, who have the worst defence in the league this season having shipped 39 in 14 games – that’s almost three goals conceded per game. Liverpool have the joint third-best attack with 32 goals scored. Nailed on…
