The view of the opposition: West Ham v Crystal Palace

We provide analysis and best bets as the Hammers host Roy Hodgson's Eagles in a return to Premier League action at the London Stadium.

West Ham’s improvement in the Premier League under David Moyes shows no signs of slowing.

The Hammers have lost just one of their last nine top-flight matches under the Scot – a fine run that could get even better when Crystal Palace visit the London Stadium on Tuesday.

Palace enjoyed a good run away from home over Christmas, but have since been knocked out of the FA Cup at Brighton and blown away by Arsenal at the Emirates.

Just two wins away from Selhurst Park all season hardly inspires much confidence that they are capable of victory at West Ham.

Roy Hodgson’s side have been particularly wobbly in defence.

The Eagles have conceded eight goals in their last four matches on the road, suffering from the absence of first-choice defenders Mamadou Sakho and Scott Dann.

They do, however, offer a serious threat in attack.

Palace have netted at least twice in five of their last 10 matches, with only Manchester City stopping them from scoring during that time.

Considering that Moyes’ side have both scored and conceded in their last three games at the London Stadium, it is worth backing this game to feature goals at both ends.

With the Hammers’ attack decimated by injury, however, it could well be down to the hosts’ midfielders to chip in.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Mark Noble have both scored twice this season, but it is worth backing the club captain to do the business here.

Noble has notched twice in his last six matches, and, given that he is the club’s penalty taker, represents value in the market.
