Here are five football tips Will Rook thinks you should consider for Manchester United v Newcastle on Boxing Day.

0-0 at half-time

Newcastle have been drawing 0-0 at half-time in each of their last three games, while it was also goalless at the break in the reverse fixture in October.

Manchester United haven’t scored a first-half goal in any of their last four games in all competitions, including a 3-0 victory over Colchester in the EFL Cup.

Over 1.5 second-half goals

Games at Old Trafford tend to heat up after the break, though.

Four of Manchester United’s last six home games have seen two or more goals scored in the second half.

Marcus Rashford to score first

Rashford is on fire at the moment, scoring 14 goals in his last 17 appearances for club and country.

He’s bagged the opener in the last three games in which he’s scored, so is worth backing to do the same here.

Goal to be scored between 61 and 75 minutes

There’s been a goal within this timeframe in three of the last five matches at Old Trafford.

The same goes for two of Newcastle’s last four league games.

Over 3.5 cards

Four of the last six games at Old Trafford have tipped this balance, with three bookings in one of the exceptions (a 1-1 draw with Everton).

Manchester United are fifth-bottom of the disciplinary table having picked up 40 bookings – the second-most in the division.
