Here are four football tips that Will Rook thinks you should consider for Southampton v Newcastle on Friday night.

Southampton to win

Southampton come into this in decent form, having won four and drawn one of their last five league games – a run that has taken them to fifth in the table.

Newcastle are winless in their last three away games, including a 1-1 draw with League Two Newport in the EFL Cup in September.

BTTS

Southampton have been involved in a 4-3, 3-3 and 2-5 already this season, while they haven’t failed to score since the opening day.

BTTS has landed in five consecutive league games for Newcastle.

Che Adams to score

In the absence of Danny Ings, Adams is likely to shoulder more responsibility for scoring goals.

The forward has netted two in his last three appearances and will surely lead the line again for the Saints on Friday.

Under 9.5 corners

Despite scoring plenty of goals, Southampton don’t force many corners. The Saints had just one against Aston Villa last week and have only once had more than four in the league.

Newcastle have had four or fewer in four of their last five league games, while they failed to register a single corner in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester United last month.
