Here are five football tips Adam Drury thinks you should consider for Southampton v Leicester, which kicks off at 20:00 on Friday.

Southampton to win or draw & under 4.5 goals

Southampton have only picked up one point from four home games, though they have included fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.

They have scored in all of those matches and had the better of a 1-1 draw at Wolves last week.

Leicester were fortunate to beat Burnley 2-1 last Saturday, and have only won three of their nine league away games under Brendan Rodgers.

Danny Ings to score

Ings has scored five goals in his last four games, including at Wolves last Saturday.

He ranks ninth for xG since the beginning of September, and is an established penalty-taker.

Over 1.5 Southampton cards

Southampton have picked up two cards in two of their last three games.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side rank fourth for fouls per game, while three of Leicester’s last four opponents have picked up two or more cards.

Oriel Romeu to be carded

An opposition central midfielder has been carded in all of Leicester’s last four matches.

Romeu ranks fourth for tackles and joint-11th for fouls in the Premier League, so is the player most likely to keep that trend going.

James Maddison to be carded

Maddison ranks joint-eighth for fouls in the Premier League so is a decent outside bet for a card.

Three opposition midfielders have been carded in Southampton’s last two matches at St Mary’s.
