Here are Adam Drury‘s football tips for Cardiff v Chelsea on Sunday.
Chelsea to win the first half
Chelsea have a habit of starting matches quickly and dropping off later, so there’s more value in backing them to win the first 45 minutes rather than win the match.
Maurizio Sarri’s side posted an xG of 0.91 in the opening period of their last game at Everton, and were leading at half-time in all of their three previous away matches.
Ross Barkley to score
Barkley scored twice in England’s win against Montenegro on Monday and is a nice bet to extend his good form here.
The midfielder has now netted seven goals for club and country this season, five of which have come away from home.
Both of his Premier League away goals have come in early-afternoon Sunday matches, which is a bonus.
Eden Hazard to score
Hazard took his season’s goal tally to 21 after scoring three times in two matches for Belgium during the international break.
Cardiff have conceded 16 goals in four home matches against top-six opposition this season, so chances are bound to come his way here.
Aron Gunnarsson to be carded
An opposition midfielder has been carded in four of Chelsea’s last five Premier League games, and Gunnarsson looks the likeliest to continue that trend.
The 29-year-old ranks inside the top five for both fouls and tackles in the Cardiff squad.
