Gameweek 20 of the 2025/26 Premier League season gets underway this weekend and on Sunday we are treated to a blockbuster day of six top-flight fixtures.
Starting at lunchtime with Manchester United’s trip to a fiery Elland Road, four of the Premier League top six are in action on Sunday, including a marquee showdown between title challengers Manchester City and managerless Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. Leeds United held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield, but more goalmouth action is expected when they host rivals Manchester United this weekend.
Both teams scored in the eight Whites games preceding that bore draw on Merseyside and they face a Red Devils side with the worst defensive record outside the bottom six on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim’s side became the third side to fail to beat rock-bottom Wolves in their final game of 2025 and there have been goals at both ends in nine of their 10 away games this season, while both teams to score has landed in each of Leeds’ last seven at Elland Road.

Magpies to continue home scoring streak
Newcastle United ended 2025 on a high note at Turf Moor, and they should begin the new year in a similar fashion against the out-of-form Crystal Palace.
The Magpies are unbeaten in 10 competitive home games and have won eight of those, remarkably scoring exactly two goals in nine of those fixtures.
They have scored at least twice in 12 of their 15 outings at St James’ Park this season and the Eagles, winless in their last six games, have conceded six goals on their last two away days.

Stumbling Spurs to falter as Black Cats come to town
Thomas Frank’s Tottenham forced to settle for a point on his return to Brentford last time out and Sunderland look primed to defy the odds as they visit London on Sunday.
Spurs have won just four of their last 14 matches and have dropped points in six of their last nine home assignments, while the visitors have performed well above expectations this season.
The Black Cats sit seventh in the Premier League standings and held Man City to a draw last time out, extending their unbeaten streak to four games.
They have lost just four of their 19 top-flight outings and have the best defensive record outside the top two.

Managerless Blues to struggle at the Etihad
Manchester City may have been held to a draw by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, but they can get their Premier League title challenge back on track in Sunday’s standout fixture.
They have won seven of their last eight games and their last four home matches have been won by an aggregate scoreline of 11-2, while Chelsea head north without a full-time manager in place following Enzo Maresca’s remarkable parting of ways with the club this week.
The Blues are winless in three games and have lost away to Atalanta and Leeds since the start of December, while they have also lost on six of their last seven trips to the Etihad, so look primed for defeat on Sunday.
