Premier League: A 5/1 bet builder for Liverpool v Aston Villa

Liverpool have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions while Aston Villa have won their last four in the Premier League to draw level with the champions in the standings

Liverpool and Aston Villa are level on points going into Saturday’s late Premier League game, which seemed unthinkable back in September.

After winning their first five matches, the defending champions have lost their last four league games to slip to seventh in the table, with 15 points from nine games.

A poor start to the season saw it take until September 28 for Villa to collect their first league victory and they have turned their season around since then.

We have come up with a 5/1 bet builder to consider for Saturday evening’s 8pm kick-off at Anfield.

Liverpool v Aston Villa Bet Builder Tips

  • Mohamed Salah Anytime Goalscorer @ 7/5
  • Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/20
  • Liverpool to get First Card @ 6/5

Salah looks to continue Villa roll

One of the main talking points surrounding Liverpool’s poor run has been the form of Mohamed Salah, last season’s top goalscorer in the Premier League.

The Egyptian star may not have been at his best so far, but he still has three goals and two assists to his name going into Saturday’s clash.

Salah ended a seven-game run without a goal in the defeat at Brentford, firing home a brilliant late volley, so should go into this match with a lift in confidence.

The 33-year-old has an impressive record against Villa, scoring in both meetings last season, including the second goal in a 2-0 win in this fixture.

In fact, Salah has four goals in the last six meetings between the two teams and it is rare to see him odds against to score at any time, particularly at Anfield.

Leg 1: Mohamed Salah Anytime Goalscorer @ 7/5

Goals look likely

Goals have been a theme of Liverpool’s fixtures in the last month, with three or more goals scored in each of their last five matches in all competitions.

Despite their recent struggles, the Reds are still the joint-second top goalscorers in the top flight, with 16 in their opening nine league games.

Their only home league fixture to see under 2.5 goals was August’s 1-0 win over Arsenal, while three of the last four meetings with Villa have seen three or more goals scored.

It’s also worth noting that Villa – who have not won at Anfield since 2014, have scored in each of their last five away games.

Leg 2: Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/20

Reds racking up the cards

Liverpool collected 66 yellows and three red cards during their league title campaign last season and are currently on 17 after their opening nine games this term.

Arne Slot’s men collected another two yellows and a red card in the midweek EFL Cup defeat to Crystal Palace and currently rank joint-eighth for top-flight cautions.

Their problems at full-back have been highlighted by the fact that both Milos Kerkez and Connor Bradley have both picked up three bookings each.

Villa have picked up 14 yellows and have received just one caution in their last two league games – which was Boubacar Kamara’s late booking in the 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Leg 3: Liverpool to get First Card @ 6/5
