Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United in the Premier League lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, with both sides looking to claim victory to boost their top-four hopes.
Spurs, who have lost their last two home league games, come into the fixture on a high after a midweek 4-0 Champions League thrashing of FC Copenhagen, in which Micky van de Ven scored a superb solo goal.
United, without European football this season, have had a full week’s rest, however, their three-game winning streak came to an end last weekend with a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Spurs on a high after Champions League success
Tottenham started the season strongly, losing just one of their opening six matches, but that form tailed off with three defeats in their last four league outings – two of those coming at home.
After being booed off following the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, a statement performance was needed in midweek and they delivered with a 4-0 demolition of Copenhagen to maintain their unbeaten run in Europe. That result should restore confidence to both players and fans.
Spurs can build on that victory against United, and recent head-to-head meetings point towards a positive outcome. United have failed to win any of their last seven matches against Spurs, losing five, including the Europa League final last season.

Both sides can find the net
United have managed just one clean sheet in their opening 10 Premier League matches. Tottenham, meanwhile, have kept four shutouts, though three of those came in their first four league games.
Both teams have been consistent scorers, netting 17 goals apiece so far, and United’s recent run – unbeaten in four, scoring 10 in that stretch – suggests they can breach the Spurs defence.
Statistically, both teams have scored in seven of United’s 10 league matches this season, with the exceptions coming in defeats to Arsenal and Manchester City and a 2-0 win over Sunderland.
Although the two League meetings last season finished 1-0 to Spurs, when the sides met in the EFL Cup, the final score was 4-3.
Other results of 2-2 (twice) and 3-2 since 2022 suggest both teams to score is not out of the question.

Fernandes a major card candidate
Red Devils midfield ace Bruno Fernandes has collected 38 yellow cards in 205 Premier League appearances and already has two this season.
His only straight red card for United came in their 3-0 defeat to Spurs at Old Trafford last season, while he has also been booked twice previously against Tottenham – one of those in the League Cup.
Given his aggressive style and tendency to argue decisions, Fernandes looks like a strong candidate to find his way into the referee’s notebook again.
