Premier League: A 10/1 bet builder for Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Crystal Palace need to get Carabao Cup heartache out of their system when they entertain Tottenham at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm).

FA Cup holders Crystal Palace‘s dreams of going back to Wembley were shattered by Arsenal on Tuesday night in a League Cup quarter-final penalty shootout.

That means it is four games without a win for Oliver Glasner’s side though Tottenham have troubles of their own with key players missing for this trip across the river.

It is a crunch game in the battle to stay in the chase for European qualification and we have identified a 10/1 bet builder for the contest.

Spiky Spurs to help card count soar

Tottenham are officially the Premier League’s bad boys after last week’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool in which they picked up four more yellows and two red cards.

Spurs have now racked up 46 cards this term with tempers getting frayed far too easily.

You might think the absence of defensive hothead Cristian Romero means they will be on their best behaviour at Selhurst Park.

But there are still plenty of fiery competitors in the Tottenham dressing room and a London derby – one in which they know they will have to be competitive – should test their ability or otherwise to cross the disciplinary line.

They average 2.7 cards per game, Palace 1.7 while last year’s meeting at Selhurst saw eight yellow cards shown.

Get on over 4.5 cards – a 19/20 chance as a single – as the first leg of the bet builder.

Rich pickings for under-fire Frank

Richarlison’s season has been a stop-start affair but he did enough in 10 minutes off the bench in the defeat to Liverpool to suggest he gets a start at Palace.

In fact that looks certain with Xavi Simons suspended and Dominic Solanke still injured.

The Brazilian has had 19 shots in his last 13 Premier League games, six of which were coming off the bench.

He has bagged four goals in his last seven – plus one against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League – and given Spurs will create chances, take him to have at least one on target.

Guehi a threat from set-plays

England centre-back Marc Guehi knows his primary role will be keeping a lid on Tottenham’s strikers on Sunday.

But the Palace defender is definitely a threat at the other end of the pitch, as demonstrated against Arsenal on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Guehi grabbed Palace’s late equaliser, ultimately in vain, but that made it three goals for the season.

Set-plays are more and more critical in the modern game and defenders are getting more and more chances with this new approach. Take Guehi to get an effort on target.
