Mark Noble, Aaron Cresswell, James Collins and Darren Randolph gear up for the Grand National with a cheeky competition...
When it comes to choosing your Grand National horse, the name can often be the deciding factor.
So, ahead of the start of the Aintree Festival, we decided to put the eye of some West Ham players to the test with a list of whimsical horse names.
Their challenge was to try and distinguish the genuine ones that actually made it to post from the downright ridiculous, that were either made up by us or thrown out by the authorities.
On one team was club captain Mark Noble and England international Aaron Cresswell, pitting their wits against goalkeeper Darren Randolph and James “Ginger Pele” Collins on the other.
Each pair were given five names to weigh up whether it was a real horse or just plain coarse – with the team that got the most right being crowned the winners.
And, just like all the best horse racing contents, it proved to be neck and neck.
Watch the video above to find out which team won it by a nose and who was pipped at the post…
