Brentford to beat Rotherham –
Brentford only lost three of their 23 matches at Griffin Park last season.
The Bees were also the most dangerous attacking side in the Championship, creating at least 96 more chances than any other team.
Following a productive summer, they should start with three points against a Rotherham side that picked up just two points on the road during their last season in the Championship two years ago.
Barnsley to beat Oxford –
Barnsley come down from the Championship in good shape, having kept hold of their better players including Tom Bradshaw and Kieffer Moore – the latter of which scored 13 goals before January in League One last season.
The Tykes were only relegated on the final day last term, losing just one of their final four games at home.
Oxford have recruited well and will provide a tough test, but won just six away games last season and are likely to be edged by one of the best sides in the division.
Burton to beat Rochdale –
Rochdale managed to save themselves from relegation on the final day last season, but there has been little improvement since then.
Aaron Wilbraham and David Perkins – who are 38 and 36 years old respectively – have arrived at Spotland, but are unlikely to reverse the fortunes of a side that won just two of their final eight matches last season.
Burton still have a squad similar to that from their two years in the Championship, and represent great value to kick 2018/19 off with three points.
Peterborough to beat Bristol Rovers –
With 15 new signings and 17 depatures, Peterborough’s starting XI will be almost unrecognisable to the side that ended last season with five defeats from their last six matches.
Matt Godden, who scored 14 goals at Stevenage last term, and Jason Cummings, who arrives on loan from Nottingham Forest after a year at Rangers, look particularly impressive acquisitions.
At this side of evens, Posh are worth backing to beat a Bristol Rovers side that had the sixth-worst travelling record in League One in 2017/18 and have done little transfer business.
Bury to beat Yeovil –
Yeovil finished just two points above the League Two relegation zone last season and had the fifth-worst away record in the fourth tier.
The Glovers look in worse shape now than in May, having lost 10-goal Otis Khan to Mansfield and defender Tom James to West Brom.
Bury ended last season on a five-match unbeaten run and have kept hold of League One-standard players in Adam Thompson, Stephen Dawson and Harry Bunn.
