Mythbusters: 4 favourites to back against on Sunday
These underdogs represent good value to defy the odds this weekend. If you fancy them all, back the 23/1 double chance accumulator.
Arsenal not to beat Huddersfield –
Defeat at Leicester on Wednesday extended Arsenal’s dismal 2018 Premier league away record to seven defeats from seven.
The result suggests that the motivation provided by Arsene Wenger’s exit is not enough for results to improve, and things could end sourly for the Frenchman at Huddersfield.
David Wagner’s side have held Manchester City and Chelsea to draws in their last two matches, and are capable of ending their successful season on a high.
Chelsea not to beat Newcastle –
Only profligate finishing denied Newcastle a victory against Spurs at Wembley on Wednesday, so avoiding defeat is certainly a possibility against Chelsea.
Rafa Benitez’s side have only lost two of their five home games against top-six opposition this season, while they have not conceded more than once in any of their last 11 matches at St James’ Park.
That is a concern for Antonio Conte, whose team have only managed a clean sheet at Swansea in their last nine away games.
Udinese not to beat Hallas Verona –
In a match between two teams dreadfully out of form, there is value in backing the hosts to avoid defeat.
Udinese have been appalling in 2018, losing 12 of their last 13 games and drawing 3-3 with bottom-place Benevento in the other.
Verona haven’t been much better, but given that they have won three of their last six home matches, they are a tempting bet to claim at least a point.
Atalanta not to beat Milan –
Milan’s promising away from certainly justifies a gamble on them avoiding defeat at Atalanta.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side have only lost at Arsenal and Juventus in their last 12 matches on the road, including a win at Roma and draw at Lazio.
While Sunday’s hosts have excelled this term, they are yet to beat a fellow top-eight team at home.
